Shelley tea wares, pattern no. 2222There are three different shapes, though they are all the same design, these include as illustrated; ring handles, angular handles and loop handles to various cups and jugs. The numbers as follows: ring handled - teapot, coffee pot, three jugs, fifteen cups. Angular handles - one cup, one jug. Loop handles - eight cups, three jugs. Service includes overall coffee pot, teapot, seven jugs, three sugar bowls, thirty-three cups/coffee cans, five cake plates, seven square side plates, thirty two circular side plates and forty three saucers. Teapot with hairline crack to the handle (with teapot stand). Coffee pot with hairline crack to handle. One jug with large chip to rim. Remaining pieces appear in good condition. Bought as seen.

Japanese Early Twentieth Century Satsuma Tea Service Comprising twelve pieces to include large scalloped edge charger, teapot, four cups and saucers, sugar bowl and milk jug. Each profusely patterned with traditional figurative and mythical design, the teapot handle and spout in the form of a dragon. Character marks to base, good condition, please see accompanying image.
"A Rare Early 18th Century Chinese Armorial Porcelain part dinner service of twenty pieces, each piece painted in underglaze blue with a buffalo beneath a pine tree and a pair of birds in flight above, all framed within a continuous flowering border, and each piece further painted with a family crest of a deer's head erased facing right: Comprising large oval platter 55cm, large circular charger 46cm, two circular chargers 39cm, three oval platters 36cm, large baluster jug 24cm high, two plates 23cm, one flanged bowl 22cm, two smaller dishes 16cm (repaired) and 11cm diam, three tea bowls 9cm diam, one tea bowl 7cm, one baluster mug 9cm high, one tea cup (handle missing), and one small baluster vase and cover (finial missing and rim chipped), Literature: See Howard Sanctuary, 'Chinese Armorial Porcelain', p.968 - 'This is a remarkable soft paste service with very white glaze and with the painting in underglaze blue. This is the only soft paste armorial porcelain known which could have been for the British market (except replacements) although a very few others pieces are known to have been made for the continental market'.
