An Aynsley Art Deco tea service, petal form with handles moulded as butterflies, hand painted in enamels, (registered design number 785789) including twelve cups and saucers, milk jug, sugar bowl and plates (40). Most pieces with minor losses to paint work and gilding, very minor chips to bases but no significant damage. Two cups broken and restored. Two with chipped wing handles and two with larger chips to the bases. .Jug with loss to bottom of one wing.

He stayed with the poet, artist and collector of Surrealist works Edward James at his Surrealist house Monkton.Edward James specially commissioned the set from Royal Crown Derby and it was sold in the Edward James Collection at Christies in 1986 and was bought by the dealer John Jesse. Subsequently, pieces have been acquired by the V&A and Royal Crown Derby Museum.
