Royal Air Force Serviceman Corporal Norman Potter from Blackburn Lancashire served in the 73rd Squadron and kept the most amazing photograph album and scrapbook dated 1941 to 1946 which has now been offered for sale for the first time by the family. The items include two different shaped RAF identity tags number 1089497 RAF C E Potter, plus his RAF Service and Release book form 2520A, including Service particulars Italy Star, 1939/45 star, Defence Medal, scrapbook includes recruitment details RAF radius 10 miles permission chit to wear plain clothes, RAF Christmas menus Airmens Mess, inc Gibraltar Christmas menu 1942, plus bank notes, news articles from the Gibraltar Chronicle July 31st 1942, Overseas Service booklet and Canzoniere del Soldato booklet, Handwritten Squadron tune lyrics, Christmas cards, letters, many hand written letters, Clearance certificate, deficient items certificate, rifle type certificate signed, many transit camp tickets inc tea, breakfast & supper chits, Naafi passes, programme for RAF Qastina first annual horse race meeting, plus permit to keep a Kodak camera at RAF station Qastina (used to take photos in the accompanying album), Nominal role from hut 34, plus certificates of Pilgrimage, lists and newspaper cuttings plus an RAF insignia, Airman's Pay Book, more bank notes, photo album includes many group photos, taken from Gibraltar, the Mess, Christmas Dinner 1942, Black Watch v RAF football, Gibraltar Rock, Air Raid 1942, Submarine "Thunderbolt", Sunderland flying boat, the Ark under attack from the air and the crew leaving the carrier, plus the Destroyer, Malta attack many photos, North Africa, Italy 1944, Palestine 1945, Qastina, Tel Aviv, Palestine, Bethlehem, Garden of Gethsemane, Chruch of the Holy Sepulchre, plus the scuttling of the Graf-Spee off Montevideo, a remarkable collection and difficult to believe how it has survived through the war.
