A late Victorian Kensington Fine Art Pottery Company (circa 1892-9) Japan pattern dinner service comprising oval dishes, tazzas, casserole dishes, sauce boats, plates, side plates, cups and saucers (120 pieces) CONDITION REPORTS Comprises : 12 teacups, 12 saucers, 12 tea plates, 12 side plates, 11 slightly larger plates, 10 dinner plates, 11 bowls, 11 dessert plates, 2 tall comports, 3 low comports, 2 twin handled tureens, a sauce tureen and 2 stands, 6 oval serving plates, a circular serving plate and milk jug. There is heavy wear on all pieces conducive with age and use including rubbing to the gilding, crazing to glaze, staining, various fractures, etc. One teacup has a large chunk missing from the rim, 3 saucers have chips to underside, 3 tea plates show significant hairline cracks, one side plate shows significant cracking, one slightly larger plate has two large chips to the outside rim, one dinner plate has a large chip to outside rim, one soup plate with stapled repair where piece has been broken in half, 6 dessert plates have significant fractures, another has been glued back together, another repaired with staples, one tall comport has been restored with staples, one low comport has chip to underneath, another has been glued back together and the third has significant fractures, milk jug spout has been glued back together, one tureen lid handle is broken, the other tureen handle has been broken off and re-glued and has a large chip to underneath, one soup tureen handle is off, one sauce tureen stand has blistering to paintwork and a crack, 2 serving dishes have been glued back together and 2 have significant splitting. There is also a collection of broken/incomplete pieces appearing to comprise sauce tureen, serving platter, dessert plate, etc.
