AN IRISH FOUR PIECE SILVER TEA SERVICE, Dublin 1977, mark of Alwright & Marshall, comprising teapot, cream jug, sugar bowl and sauce boat (1978), the teapot of squashed pear form, the domed hinged lid with naturalistic swan finial above a wavy collar, the body chased and embossed to one side with a swan amongst reeds, to the other side with a fox and contained within bands of fruiting vines and foliage, raised on three lion mask capped paw feet, and applied with ebon handle, (c.1524g all in). Coffee pot 24cm high, teapot 25cm wide over handle and spout; together with a silver plated tray, of shaped oval form with large reeded and leaf wrapped twin carrying handles, the raised cast scrolling rocaille rim to an engraved central reserve decorated with a continuous band of scrolls, flower heads and feathers. 67cm wide.
