FOUJITA TSUGUHARU: (1886-1968) Japanese-French Painter & Printmaker. A charming illustrated A.L.S., Foujita, two pages, oblong 8vo, n.p. (Paris), 7th January 1954, to his friend the journalist Victor Berger-Vachon, in French. Foujita remarks that he has received his correspondent’s offer of a magnificent tea service and continues to draw a small pen and ink sketch, with red pencil additions, of a teapot at the head of a line of several other tea utensils. The artist further states that he has spent a wonderful New Year with his friends, and that after suffering many difficulties he is now starting to work very hard again. Accompanied by the original envelope hand addressed by Foujita to Berger-Vachon in Algeria. A couple of very light, extremely minor stains, VG
