Whos memoirs were written in 1954 covering his career as a Tea Planter in Ceylon, served as a junior officer on the Quartermaster Generals Staff at GHQ BEF 1917-1918. And at 66 became Chief Postal Censor, Malaya (1940-42) the final days of the battle for Singapore, his evacuation in the KUALA and her sinking by the Japanese (13/2/42) his voyage by small boats on to Singkep and Sumatra and across the island to the Post of Padang (Feb - March 1942, his subsequent internment by the Japanese (April 1942 - August 1945). Teapot, lid badly broken and re-glued, knop is damaged, two pieces present, tiny chip on underneath of spout, slight wear to gilding on handle.

The occasional piece including the cream jug have crazing. Some small amounts of wear to the gilding mainly on the side plates.
