A fine quality matched Victorian tea coffee service - William Hewitt, the tea and coffee pots London 1839, of lobed form, with repoussé decoration of heart shaped leaves and four-petalled flowers, the domed lids with floral and foliate finials, leaf-capped scroll handles and spouts with ivory insulators, on cast foliate and shell feet, the coffee pot 21.6cm high; the two-handled sugar bowl and cream jug by the same maker, London 1841, of similar lobed form but with repoussé decoration of corn crakes and acanthus leaves, the spout with shell decoration, the scroll handles with foliate caps, on foliate shell feet, gross weight 2366g, each with engraved armorial or crest with the motto 'Modice Augetur Modicum'. * The arms are for the Williamson family, originally of Hutchinfield, Scotland Ivory registration: P3748PWL

A George V silver bachelor's four piece tea and coffee service, of chamfered and tapered rectangular form, the coffee and tea pots with composite handles and knops, by Adie Bros Ltd, Birmingham 1935, coffee pot 18.5cm high, 26.5oz overall. (4)A couple of minor dings, but the silver has been cleaned abrasively and the surface appears scratched. Some marks a little worn.
