Mostly plated table flatware, comprising; a table service basicaly for six place settings, including carving implements, in a wooden case, six pairs of dessert or fruit knives and forks, cased, six pairs of fish knives and forks, cased, two sets of six tea knives, cased and a flan server, cased.
George III silver Tea Service, the teapot with ebonised knop and handle, hinged lid, fluted base and on four bun feet, the two-handled sugar bowl and cream with reeded handles, the teapot - Samuel Hennell and John Terry, London 1814, the milk jug - Samuel Hennell and John Terry, 1813, the sugar bowl, maker's mark S.H., London 1813, 1250grms gross. Early Victorian silver Tea and Coffee Service, comprising octagonal teapot, domed cover with pineapple finial, shaped handle, engraved motifs and inscription, coffee pot with removable silver mounted filter , milk jug, two- handled sugar bowl and water jug, by Edward Mappin & Joseph C. Mappin, the coffee pot London 1865, the teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug 1867, 2270grms., contained within a velvet-lined fitted oak box, the interior of the lid with plaque inscribed - "Mappin Bros, Silversmiths, 61 & 68 King William Street and 222 Regent Street, London", with brass handle and plaque with engraved initials.
A William IV three piece tea service by Elder & Company, Edinburgh 1834 - 35, retailed by J Hamilton & Company (probably), comprising teapot, milk jug, twin handled sugar bowl, each of inverted pear shaped design with semi spiralled fluted panels with finely embossed floral displays within, raised on a shaped circular foot rim similarly decorated, the teapot with S scroll handle with acanthus thumbpiece and floral trailing garland, simple scroll spout with scroll and floral detail and hinged domed cover with floral decoration and cluster finial, the milk jug and sugar bowl with everted scalloped rim with chased foliate detail and gilt interiors, with naturalistically formed foliate scroll handles (3) teapot 18cm high, milk jug 17cm high, twin handled sugar bowl 213cm high, combined weight 52oz Notes: the combination and positioning of the two maker's and retailer's marks for Elder & Company and John Hamilton & Company, is unusual. the placement makes it hard to determine who was maker and retailer as both appear to have been struck after Assay and possibly even at the same time.
A George IV three piece tea service by Robert Gray & Sons Glasgow 1821 -22, comprising teapot, twin handled sugar bowl and a cream jug, each of circular outline with tapering bodies, all with convex fluted lower sections with upper gadrooned rims and simple circular foot rims with simple borders, the handles and spouts all with acanthus leaf, vine and scroll details, the teapot having hinged cover with bud finial (3) teapot 16cm high, 28.oz; twin handled sugar bowl 12cm high, 13oz; cream jug 10.5cm high 8.5oz
COPELAND & SONS "HUNTING" TEA SERVICE WITH SCENES AFTER LIONEL EDWARDS, comprising seven cups, eight saucers, eight bread plates, slop bowl, pair of square serving dishes and an oval serving dish, each printed with a different named scene including "Full Cry", "The Groom", "The Find" etc, printed marks.
