A composite silver flatware service ÔFiddle and Thread patternÕ each engraved with the Fownes family crest comprising: six table spoons six table forks six dessert spoons and six tea spoons mainly London 1826 by AB Savory 46 oz; together with a pair of electroplated fish servers (qty) Edward Fownes (1800-1893) was the last Director of the Fownes family International Glovers business. His daughter married Gardener Fownes Rigden who took on the firm with warehouses in Gresham Street in the City of London and Worcester making and marketing high fashion leather gloves. His son William ran the firm until its sale in the 1960s. Fownes has since merged with Dents.
