AMERICAN STERLING SILVER COFFEE/TEA SERVICE BY GORHAM, CONSISTING OF; COFFEE POT 10.5" TEAPOT 9.75" HOT WATER KETTLE & STAND COVERED WASTE BOWL 7" TALL OPEN SUGAR BOWL WITH A VERMEIL INTERIOR 6.75" TALL OPEN CREAMER WITH A VERMEIL INTERIOR 4" TALL RECTANGULAR WAITER TRAY WITH PIERCED SCROLL HANDLES 32"X19" THE SCROLL FOOTED PEAR SHAPED BODIES DECORATED WITH REPOUSSE FLORAL SCROLLS AND PIERCED LATTICE BORDERS & SHELL FINIALS. THIS SERVICE BELONGED TO THE AMERICAN SOCIALITE ESTHER MCCREERY FROM CIRCA 1920/30'S. LIVING IN HILLSBORO, CALIFORNIA, ESTHER WOULD HAVE USED THIS TEA SERVICE WHEN SHE ENTERTAINED BOB & DELORES HOPE, DANIEL BOON, CHARLIE CHAPLIN, BUDDY EPSTEIN TO NAME BUT A FEW. IT TRAVELLED WITH ESTHER WHEN SHE WAS IN THE BAHAMAS, AUSTRALIA AND THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. MORE IMPORTANTLY HOWEVER IT WAS USED WHEN ENTERTAINING THE YOUNG PRINCE PHILIP WHEN HE ATTENDED A POLO MATCH IN THE STATES. THERE IS A PHOTO OF PRINCE PHILIP WITH THE CURRENT VENDORS FATHER AT THAT MATCH IN THE 50'S. THE VENDORS FATHER WAS GEORGE GORDON MOORE WHO WAS A POLO CHAMPION FOR 6 YEARS RUNNING.
