An original Albert Wilkes photograph of West Bromwich Albion Striker. W.G Richardson who made 320 apperances between 1929 and 1945 scoring 202 goals and scored 39 goals in 35/36 the highest by any Albion player in top division football. This is a great piece of Albion Football memorabilia that was displayed at a Throstle club until closure and has since been stored. It is now unframed to enable sight of the Wilkes copyright stamp Size 6.5 x 8.5 inch's
On April 25th West Brom beat Birmingham 2-1 to win the FA Cup and on May 2nd they secured promotion to the First Division to complete a unique double that has never been achieved by any other club in English Football. The event was captured by The West bromwich Free Press on May 8th showing three celebratory photo's. The Free Press was published by the local business Kenrick and Jefferson making this lot not only a great piece of Football memorabilia but also a piece of West Bromwich social history The piece was displayed at the Throstle club until closure and has been stored since. The frame is in need of refurbishment and the glass is cracked

Len Collett a former Albion Steward and Throstle Club Committee member owned a Dapper hand Sewn leather lace up Football and used to ask players to sign the ball when visiting the dressing room. When viewing you will see some great autographs Ray Wilson, Bobby Hope, John Osborne, Graham Williams, Allan Glover, Asa Hartford and many more. This is a great piece and would look fantastic on display

This item was displayed in a Throstle club until they were closed down. Albert Wilkes was a former professional footballer who trialled at West Brom before joining Walsall in 1895.he joined Aston Villa in 1898 making 159 apperances and was capped 5 times for England. he finally retired in 1907. where is qualified as a Referee and opened a photography studio in Legge St West Bromwich and concentrated on football players and team photographs. Joined by his son the business continue until 1970 when sold to a leading Photo agency that still operate today. an original wilkes photograph and the connection of the photograph within the club makes this a very desirable piece of football memorabilia Size 24.5 x 20.5 inch's ( frame ) picture 15 x 12 inch's
