A schoolbook for Stand Grammar School, Whitefield, used by Mark E. Smith for his English literature homework during his time in form 5E, likely c 1972. Plenty of copy in the book including Mark's examination of 'The Case For The Miners' by Siegfried Sassoon, a piece titled 'To choose three poems for their atmosphere, to describe atmosphere and how it is created'. Also with lists of music / LPs clearly important to Mark inc VDGG, Can, Elvis, Beethoven, Hendrix and also (important to Mark) football results seemingly from the 1974 World Cup in the back of the book.
