A schoolbook for Stand Grammar School, Whitefield, used by Mark E. Smith for his English literature homework during his time in form 5E, likely c 1972. Plenty of copy in the book including Mark's examination of 'The Case For The Miners' by Siegfried Sassoon, a piece titled 'To choose three poems for their atmosphere, to describe atmosphere and how it is created'. Also with lists of music / LPs clearly important to Mark inc VDGG, Can, Elvis, Beethoven, Hendrix and also (important to Mark) football results seemingly from the 1974 World Cup in the back of the book. Some loose pages, measures 17.5 x 23cm.Consigned directly from Mark E. Smith's personal collection by Mark's family.

FOOTBALL PROGRAMME - EXTREMELY RARE. On the 28th April 1908, ASTON VILLA played MANCHESTER CITY at Swadlincote, Derbyshire in a benefit match for the Rawdon Colliery Disaster Fund, following the accident at the Colliery on 18th November 1907, this is the official souvenir of the events on the day, together with two photographic postcards featuring BEN WARREN, an England International who lived in Newhall, Derbyshire, the programme is complete but the centre staple is missing
