A good collection of 22 football magic lantern slides,many relating to Sheffield United Football Club and by the acclaimed local pioneer photographer H. Jasper Redfern circa 1900, including a group of four featuring the Sheffield United v Derby County F.A. Cup Final 15th April 1899, comprising an evocative crowd scene with some spectators without tickets perched high in trees beyond the stadium; two match action photographs one showing a cameraman taking moving images from behind a goal-line; the other some early arriving spectators enjoying a pint in the front row of the grandstand, each 3 1/4in. square; other slides including match-action included the 1899 F.A. Cup semi-final v Liverpool, a coloured slide of the Sheffield United 1902 F.A. Cup winning team, four of the glass slides are cracked; the group also including a rare image of the famous goalkeeper Bill "Fatty" Foulkes posing at the crease in the summer of 1900 when he played four first-class cricket matches for Derbyshire CCC; there is also a team-group of the Nottingham Forest team who won the F.A. Cup in 1898, and two slides featuring scenes at the Crystal Palace but they are not by Redfearn, one of which is believed to have taken at the 1899 F.A. Cup Final

Sec. of Sunderland Foot Ball Club, Woodside, inviting a Mr G E Gales to an evening event & dance at the Garrison Hall, Sunderland, 16th November 1882, laid down on a Victorian scrapbook page; sold together with a group of three telegrams sent to the Sunderland's Frank Cuggy on F.A. A group of eight Tottenham Hotspur FC banker's cheques dating from 1925,sold together with a small file of suppliers' invoices and other club administrative papers, most notably signed typescript letters from the Tottenham Hotspur club secretary Reg S. Jarvis to the Everton Football Club secretary Bill Dickinson, the first dated 5th November 1954 and suggesting a kick-off time for the two clubs forthcoming fixture; the second dated 7th September 1956 and confirming that the club is agreeable to the BBC to provide a radio commentary service for the Spurs v Everton match scheduled for Christmas morning
1926 Football League share certificate acknowledgement signed by Manchester United secretary 14th October 1926One week earlier the Football Association announced that Manchester United manager John Chapman had been suspended from taking part in football or football management for improper conduct in his position as secretary-manager of Manchester United FC. No further explanation for the suspension was ever given.
