Rare 1923 Combined England & Wales v Scotland and Ireland rugby programme & ticket - played at Rugby School on 1st November commemorating the centenary of rugby football 1823-1923 - programme comprises a single fold card with team details together with original match ticket (G) (2) Note As 1923 approached, there were discussions of a combined England and Wales XV playing a Scottish-Irish team in celebration of when William Webb Ellis picked up the football and ran with it in 1823. The planned game was controversial in that there was a disagreement over whether it should be held at Rugby School, or be played at Twickenham, where an obviously larger crowd could witness the match. In the end, the match was taken to Rugby School.
1965 FA Cup Final Gerry Byrne Match Worn Signed Liverpool Football Shirt signatures featuring Byrne, Hunt, St John, Callaghan, Yeats, Smith, Strong, Lawrence, Lawler, Stevenson, to the front in ink, Umbro red shirt, framed and glazed, measuring approx. 60 x 68cm NB: The 1965 FA Cup final took place on the 1st May at Wembley stadium between Liverpool and Leeds United with the game running into extra time. Gerry Byrne played the full match, including the 30 minutes extra time and provided the pass for which Roger Hunt scored the opening goal. Liverpool eventually winning 2-1 and Gerry gained an FA Cup winners medal for his efforts. Bonhams auction February 2012 in which a similar shirt sold for £7,500.
