LIVERPOOL FC 1892 Exceedingly scarce Liverpool Football Club four page programme, season 1892-1893, v Whiston, 10/12/1892. The match was a Liverpool Reserves game in the Liverpool League and this was certainly a historic season for Liverpool. Liverpool were formed in 1892 when Everton who originally played at Anfield , had a disagreement with the owner of Anfield about rent and left to play at Goodison Park. Anfield was left without a team and as a result the owner set up a new team to play there called Liverpool FC. Liverpool were refused admittance to the Football League Division 2 and had to play with the first team in the Lancashire League, which they won and the Reserves in the Liverpool League. Liverpool also won the Liverpool and District Cup and were admitted to Division 2 of the Football League in 1893-94 in the place of local rivals Bootle. This programme dated 10th December 1892 is obviously one of the oldest Liverpool FC programmes in existence, has four pages and measures 22cm x 28cm. It has results and fixtures for both teams, League table, extensive editorial about Liverpool FC and matters concerning the club, plus of course , the line-ups for the two teams. the programme is ex bound volume and in very good condition and should be of great interest to Liverpool collectors. Very good
