REFEREE REPORT Football Leaguer assessment report on referee Clive Thomas for his control of Manchester United v Sheffield United 23/4/73. Thomas refereed the famous 1978 World Cup game when he disallowed a Brazil goal as he had already blown for time as the ball was on its way into the net. The assessor obviously had a high opinion of Thomas as he gave him 10 in every category for this match. Good

TREORCHY 1936 Four page football programme, Jim Murphys XI v Treorchy Juniors , 9/5/1936 at Treorchy. Murphy played for West Brom and Wales and this was a charity match. Murphys XI included players from West Brom, Tottenham, Cardiff , Swansea and Leicester whilst Treorchy had two players from Cardiff in their ranks. Slight fold. Generally good

MIDDLESEX WANDERERS Rare hardback book , "Football Around The World" written in 1948 by R.B.Alaway , Secretary of the famous Middlesex Wanderers Touring side from 1899-1948. Complete with dustjacket the book also covers the FA tour to New Zealand / Australia in 1937 and the early tours of Richmond Wanderers 1901-1909. Fascinating read. 171 pages with illustrations. FRENCH FOOTBALL Two 7" x 10" press photographs showing the captains of Le Havre and Atlanta exchanging pennants and the captains of Inter Milan and Racing Club also exchanging pennants. Both games took place in 1959 in the Coupe de L'Amitie or La Coppa Dell Amici . Photos have stamp of Olympia Agenzia Milano on the reverse. Good

FULHAM DIVISON 2 MEDAL 1949 Division 2 Championship medal awarded to John (Jack) McDonald , 1948-49 John McDonald was signed by Fulham from Bournemouth and between 1948 and 52, McDonald made 75 appearances for Fulham scoring 19 goals. McDonald played in 41 of the 42 games scoring 9 goals as Fulham were winners of Division 2 and promoted to the first Division. The hall-marked gold coloured but probably silver medal has Football League Champions Division 2 and on the reverse is inscribed J.McDonald Fulham FC , Season 1948-49." Comes with Football League box which has gilt inscription and box shows signs of wear and ageing around edges. Good
GLASGOW CELTIC 1914 Gilt inscribed Celtic Football and Athletic Company Limited Annual Summaries Ledger commencing in 1914. Contains Register of Directors and their home addresses, Register of Shareholders , addresses, shares held and amount paid on each share, both dated 25th May 1914. Other entries include Summary of Share Capital and Shares for the Celtic Football and Athletic Co Ltd dated 15th June 1915 as per Companies Acts 1908 and 1913, followed by a list of shareholders, addresses, shares held and amounts paid as at 30th April 1915 , signed by W.Maley Secretary 30/4/15. The Ledger also has the same information plus Register of Directors as at June 1916, there being 5 Directors including Thomas White and James Kelly. The entries continue for 1917 and 1918, a Balance Sheet for 1918 is included plus the entries for 1919 and 1920 conclude the register. Several signatures of Maley in the Ledger and it seems that all the pages of entries are in Maleys handwriting. Willie Maley was manager of Celtic between 1897 and 1940 when he retired at the age of 72. The Ledger is a little damaged at the top of the spine and on the both the front and back of the hardback ledger but overall condition is , in our opinion, Fair, possibly Fair-generally good and this ledger is the record of part of the history of the Club and did of course originally reside at the Club. SOUTHAMPTON MEDAL 1953 Medal awarded to Jack McDonald of Southampton , Football Combination Cup Competition, Runners up 1952-53. Southampton purchased Jack McDonald from Fulham in 1952 and initially he was successful in their first team, but he lost form and played most of the season in the reserves winning this medal in the process. During his time at Southampton, Jack made 16 first team appearances scoring four goals. The medal, with case, has The Football Combination Cup Competition on the front and on the reverse has a hall-mark and is inscribed Runners-Up 1952-53. Arsenal won the trophy. Good
