1953 OCTAGONAL TOURNAMENT- HIBERNIAN Rivadavia Correa Meyer in Brazil including Hibernian of Scotland, held in Rio and Sao Paulo June 7 to July 4 1953. Scarce official tournament programme which included Hibs, Sporting Club de Portugal, Vasco de Game, Botafogo, Fluminesse, Sao Paulo, Corinthians and Olimpia of Paraguay. The tournament was organised by the Brazilian Football Confederation and endorsed by FIFA and was forerunner to the FIFA Club World Cup.
