FRY C. B.: (1872-1956) English Sportsman, best remembered as a cricketer. Fry represented England at both cricket and football and made an FA Cup final appearance for Southampton FC as well as equalling the long jump world record of the time. Vintage signed postcard photograph of Fry in a head and shoulders pose wearing a sporting sweater. Signed ('C B Fry') in dark fountain pen ink with his name alone to a light area at the base of the image. Post marked 1904 to the verso. SOUTH AFRICA: An official 4to team sheet individually signed by sixteen members of the South African cricket team of 1960 including Jackie McGlew, Trevor Goddard, Neil Adcock, Peter Carlstein, Geoff Griffin, Tony Pithey, Roy McLean, John Waite, Sid O'Linn, Jonathan Fellows-Smith, Hugh Tayfield, Dudley Nourse (Manager) etc. Together with an official small 4to (neatly trimmed) team sheet individually signed by thirteen members of the Commonwealth cricket team of 1960 who toured Rhodesia and South Africa, including Richie Benaud, Tom Graveney, Brian Statham, Bob Simpson, Fred Trueman, Len Maddocks, Ken Barrington, Ray Illingworth etc. Also including a 4to sheet of headed notepaper from Warwickshire CCC individually signed by eleven members of the England cricket team of 1960 including Ted Dexter, Colin Cowdrey, Brian Statham, Fred Trueman, Ray Illingworth, Raman Subba Row etc. Each with a few small, light minor stains and one with a small tear and slight area of paper loss just affecting a few signatures. Further including a vintage cloth blazer badge featuring the red, white and gold embroidered emblem of Charlton Athletic Football Club, previously belonging to Sid O'Linn. G to VG, 4 Sid O'Linn (1927- ) South African Cricketer who played in seven Test matches from 1960-61. O'Linn was also a talented footballer who played for Charlton Athletic in the English First Division, and who had also played for South Africa against Australia in 1947.
MATTHEWS STANLEY: (1915-2000) English Footballer. Signed 4.5 x 6.5 photograph of Matthews in a full length action pose, with a football at his feet, wearing his Blackpool FC kit. The original press photograph dates from 1954. Signed, in later years, in blue ink to a clear area at the centre of the image. VG

The image depicts the team standing and crouching together in two rows before the start of the match. Signed by each player in bold black inks with their names alone across light areas of the image. Matted in red and white and framed and glazed in a plain black frame to an overall size of 15.5 x 13. EX England famously beat Germany 5-1 in their 2002 World Cup Qualifying match at the Olympiastadion in Munich on 1st September 2001. Michael Owen scored a hat-trick, with the other goals being scored by Steven Gerrard and Emile Heskey.

Together with a signed 16 x 12 photograph by both Nat Lofthouse and Harry Gregg individually, the image depicting a goal mouth incident between the two players during the 1958 FA Cup final between Bolton Wanderers and Manchester United, resulting in one of Lofthouse's two goals which won the match. Signed 8 x 6 photograph, an unusual aerial shot of Pele standing in a full length pose, holding a football, with the number 1000 formed on the pitch before him using footballs. The original Keystone press photograph bears the stamped date of January 1970 to the verso. Signed by Pele with his scarcer full signature ('Edson Pele') in black ink to the image. Crane 'in recognition of valuable services to the club during our greatest season', signed at the base by Denis Hill-Wood (chairman). Two further inside pages feature five neatly mounted original ticket stubs for various football matches including England vs. Wales 1973, England vs. Yugoslavia 1972 and the FA Cup Final 1971. An interesting association copy. Some very light, minor staining, only very slightly affecting the signatures and some light wear to the red leather and gilt stamped covers, otherwise about VG Dr. John Crane (d.2009) Arsenal FC and England doctor who led England's medical team at four World Cups in 1986, 1990, 1998 & 2002.
