Berlin Olympics. Two volumes of the photographic sticker books produced to commemorate the Berlin Olympics of 1936,. with a considerable number of stuck-in b&w photographs showing aspects of the Olympics, including several devoted to Jessie Owens, original blue cloth covered boards with the embossed Olympic emblem and title. This was produced as a collector's sticker book, with the photographs issued in batches. A particularly intriguing aspect of the production was the attention given to Jessie Owens who was famously snubbed by Hitler because of his non Ayrian race. Several photographs are devoted to him and his achievements in winning three gold medals, and most interesting of all is the shot which closes the entire production showing a stone mason carving his name on the Olympic memorial - a matter which would surely have invited the disapproval of Hitler. Ackermann [author of 'Popular Fallacies' etc.], explaining the pros and cons of using a publisher to publish a book in return for royalties as against self-financing the publication and letting a publisher take the title on commission, noting that Ruskin and Gerbert Spencer are notable examples of this latter practice, and then referring to [W.H.] Davies the Supertramp poet who 'began by having a long poem, printed and bound for cash acrtoss the counter and peddling it from door to door', one ink ms insertion in final sentence, signed in blue ballpoint pen, 2pp, 4to (1)

Two page Mussolini letter, dated 16th January 1926, some fading, and occasional ink smudges, translation as follows: The Head of the Government Dear Farinacci, I hope to convince you at this time that the return of the support of the popular mass and of any group like the Aventines is a question of the moment, of Parliament, of the Party and above all a question that concerns Mussolini. Hence my proposal the importance of which you did not at once grasp, thus leaving you to raise numerous objections in a non-fascist style. When the Head of the Government before and after the date of 3 January 1925, is interested directly in so called moral question" and has made a proposal on this matter or any other matter - the Camera Fascista - to begin with the Deputy who is Secretary of the Party - votes on it - otherwise it shows itself to be undisciplined. You surely did not wish to commit an act of in-discipline, but the fact in itself - remains. Reason therefore for you, tomorrow to make me a written statement, given now the lack of support for sure of the popular mass, either no-one speaks or I speak as I know how to speak better than all the others, especially on certain matters. Most cordially yours ussolini - from Chigi Palace - 16 January 1926
