NO RESERVE Westminster Hall.- On the Occasion of the Luncheon of the Empire Parliamentary Association, one of a thousand copies, armorial frontispiece in blue, 2 photogravure plates, 1 engraved plate, signed typed letter laid down to front endpaper, full red morocco, gilt, with wraparound cloth covering, presentation cloth slipcase, 7 May 1937; On the Occasion of the Presentation by Both Houses of Parliament, 2 photogravure plates, full green morocco, gilt, 9th May 1935; and another the same, 4to (3) ⁂ The typed letter appears to from a 'William Brass', then Conservative MP for Clitheroe (1st Baron Chattisham from 1945), who, in the letter reveals himself as the principal choreographer and orchestrator of the present book. Brass refers to the great joy and solemnity of the luncheon, noting that 'this was no summons as in bygone days by the Monarch to a Coronation Feast. Here for the first time it pleased His Majesty to be the Guest of the Parliaments of his free peoples'. The letter is addressed to John Wardlaw-Milne, fellow Conservative MP for Kidderminster and member of the Imperial Economic Committee, to whom Brass presents a copy of the book.

[Pistrucci (Filippo)] [Iconologia], lacking title and preliminaries, 24 hand-coloured plates, text-block broken at plate 7 and 12, spotting and browning, including to plate margins, contemporary half-calf, lacking spine, covers detached, worn, 8vo, [1824].⁂ A bright copy of Pistrucci's reprint in English of his highly successful and influential 2 vol. folio edition of the Iconolgia, in Italian and French with over 200 etchings with hand-colouring. Pistrucci sought to adapt Cesare Ripa's 16th-century Iconologia for the modern artist, notably incorporating the use of standardized color. His designs are known to have inspired several works of Dante Gabriel Rossetti, who owned a copy of the work and with whose family Pistrucci was a good friend.
Joyce (James).- Leavis (Frank Raymond, literary critic and academic) Autograph Letter signed to Frank Raymond, 2pp. & envelope, 244 x 200mm., folds, Cambridge, 29th July, 1971.⁂ A splendidly angry letter to a graduate student who has provoked his wrath, in particular with regards to the recipient's enthusiasm for James Joyce 'I explained many years ago why I saved myself for the writers who seem to me most interesting and repaying, and proposed to leave him [underlined] to the academic industrialists (mostly American). At best he is a sign of approaching death, and not of new life'. He also touches upon the paucity of real critics.

Antonia Bourignon: in four parts, lacking portrait frontispiece, some spotting and light staining, contemporary mottled calf, rebacked in modern calf in compartments with red leather label, corners worn, rubbed, [Wing G218], 8vo, Printed for D. Brown, at the Black Swan, 1699. sold not subject to return. ⁂ The final two leaves contain a catalogue of books by Bourignon. Bourignon (1616-1680) was a French-Flemish mystic and adventurer, who preached that the end of the world was imminent. She attracted a good number of mainly male followers, including Robert Boyle (who had her work translated into English) and Jan Swammerdam.
WORLD WAR TWO PERIOD PARACHUTE HARNESS, AS USED BY LUFTWAFFE PILOTS AND AIRCREW, this example is from the maker Dr Gettwart, Berlin, fully stamped with all code numbers, sadly one clip release and belt is missing but the three that remain are all stamped and matching with the number FL30232-1, the front of the harness has the usual circular twist release mechanism, which again is fully stamped in German, bring back trophy by WO G Grayer, who removed this from a Downed German Aircraft in North Africa, 'part of archive'

All un-named as issued, with this group is an original Shoulder Cloth Insignia Patch for Thirty Corps and a Bronze coloured Souvenir Medallion celebrating 30 Corps, struck in Belgium, with its original box, GRAYER joined the Army in 1939 and initially served with the R.A.S.C., but sometime between the North Africa/Sicily/Italy Campaigns Grayer returned to the UK and joined the Newly formed Intelligence Corps, completing his training in Scotland attached to the 45th Field Security Section, by this time with the rank of Sgt, working with amongst others a Sgt Britton, who would feature heavily with Grayer and his section at the end of the War, like thousands of other allied troops the Intel Corps, were heavily involved in the preparations for D-Day, Grayer entered the Invasion on D-Day +2 (June 8th, 1944) and would see action and involvement whilst serving in 30 Corps, Commanded by Leuit-General Sir Brian Horrocks, who would achieve fame for his valiant efforts in Operation Market Garden in September, 1944, as the War progressed and German forces retreated Grayer and 45 FSS found themselves in Northern Germany when the Nazi's surrendered in May 1945, During the morning of May 20th, 1945, a group of five German officers and seven other ranks were detained at the Bridge control at Bremervorde, they were handed over to 45 FSS for checking etc, It became apparent that three further Germans were in the vicinity and on May 22nd they were taken into custody by Sgt Britton and NCO’s from the section at the same check-point, information from immediate relatives of Grayer point to the fact one of the Germans, looked suspicious, and although he had recently issued papers stating he was a Sgt Heinrich Hizinger, Grayer was suspicious and this resulted in his initial questioning, Hizinger was asked to write a page of ‘lines’ to test his handwriting etc, the papers he was in possession of also caused concern as it was known that high ranking Nazis were copying these papers to avoid their true identities, during this time of Detention, Hizinger eventually revealed his true identity and whilst being examined by a Doctor, bit down on a cyanide capsule resulting in his death, Grayer liberated the following two items as ‘Tropaion’ or Trophies of War, page of written lines, written by Himler whilst being detained, Silk Toiletry bag in blue/cream coloured material, recovered from Himmler's possessions, the archive also includes an original photo of the recipient with colleagues from 45 F.S.S. Intel Corps, original papers and folder of paperwork from 30 Corps Intelligence Summary No 500 includes many intercepts showing life at the front from the German perspective, many other items of papers, photos, forms etc, include a photocopy of the arrest report of Himmler, which was signed by those present, including Grayer, a wealth of other paperwork including media from the time one photo showing Grayer, from the paper Nord Eclair September 1944, also present is a large double side silk Escape style map, all things considered an amazing archive

Brian Shields 'Braaq' FBA (1951-1997) - standing elderly gentleman holding a walking stick in his right hand wearing a brown coat, hat and white scarf; together with a smaller example depicting a gentleman and a small child, both signed Braaq, oils on board, 7.5" x 5.5" and 6.5"x 5" respectively (2)-** These are early examples by the Liverpool born Brian Shields as neither is inscribed with his deceased sister's name Ann-** The artist was born in Liverpool and is best known for his painting of industrial scenes of Northern Britain. He acquired the nickname 'Braaq' in his school days on account of his artistic talent, he was named after the French artist Georges Braque. Jacques-Antione Arlaud (1668-1743) - Swiss, portrait miniature of a young lady, seated wearing period costume and fashionable lace bonnet, a quill pen and document on a desk by her side, signed, watercolour on ivory, 4.5" x 4.25"-** The artist was born in Geneva in 1668, his father being a watchmaker. He began his artistic career painting small ornamental miniatures for the jeweller at Dijon, he also attempted some portraits which proved sufficiently successful to encourage him to move to Paris at the age of approx. twenty. He had the patronage of The Duke of Orleans who later became is pupil and accommodated the artist in his apartment at The Palace of St. Cloud. he also visited England with a letter of recommendation to the Princess of Wales afterwards Queen Caroline who's portrait he had the honour of painting. He returned to Paris, but settled in Geneva by 1729. Works by him are in Library and Museum of Geneva and his own portrait is in the Uffizi, Florence

Medieval Heraldic Badge. Circa, 13th century AD. Copper-alloy, 25.29 mm. A shield shaped plate with an attached pin arrangement to the reverse. The face of the badge display the arms of William de Cantilupe, first Baron Cantilupe of Greasley Castle in Nottingham and of Ravensthorpe castle in the parish of Boltby North Yorkshire. He was created Baron in 1299 by King Edward I and was one of the magnates who signed and sealed the Barons letter of 1301 to the pope. He was present at the Siege of Caerlaverock castle in Scotland in 1300, when his armorials were blazoned in Norman-French verse in the Caerlaverock Roll.
Music, Pete Townshend signed The Who CD sleeve complete with disc. In 1990 Townshend was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Who. he received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award as a member of the band; and in 2008 he received Kennedy Center Honors. Music, Deep Purple multi signed CD sleeve for album, Slaves and Masters. Signed by members Jon Lord Ritchie Blackmore and Roger Glover, complete with disc. Slaves and Masters is the thirteenth studio album by the British rock band Deep Purple, and was released on 5 October 1990. This is the only Deep Purple album to feature former Rainbow lead vocalist Joe Lynn Turner, who had joined the previous year after the firing of Ian Gillan. Before hiring Turner, the band had considered singer Jimi Jamison of Survivor, but other obligations made him unavailable. Good condition Est.
Special Effects Artist, Ray Harryhausen signed 10x8 colour photograph. Harryhausen (June 29, 1920 - May 7, 2013) was an American animator and special effects creator who created a form of stop motion model animation known as Dynamation. His works include the animation for Mighty Joe Young (1949) with his mentor Willis H. O'Brien (for which the latter won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects); his first colour film, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958); and Jason and the Argonauts (1963), which featured a sword fight with seven skeleton warriors. His last film was Clash of the Titans (1981), after which he retired. Good condition Est.

Coutinho C(born 12 June 1992) is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for Premier League club Aston Villa, on loan from La Liga club Barcelona, and the Brazil national team. Football, Jimmy Greaves signed 12x8 black and white photograph. Greaves MBE (20 February 1940 - 19 September 2021) was an English professional footballer who played as a forward. He is England's fifth highest international goalscorer (44 goals), Tottenham Hotspur's highest ever goalscorer (266 goals), the highest goalscorer in the history of English top flight football (357 goals), and also scored more hat tricks (six) for England than anyone else. He finished as the First Division's top scorer in six seasons. He is also a member of the English Football Hall of Fame. Good condition Est.

Best (born 24 November 1941) is an English musician known as the drummer of the English rock band the Beatles immediately before the band achieved worldwide fame. Fired from the group in 1962 after playing drums as a Beatle for the previous two years in Germany and England, he started his own band, the Pete Best Four. WWII, Ken Wilkinson signed 10x8 black and white photograph. Wilkinson, who worked as a chartered surveyor in Birmingham after the war, was the son of an aircraft manufacturer in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria, and became fascinated by flying while watching aircraft tests at Farnborough. He joined the RAF at the outbreak of the second world war and flew Spitfires with 616 and 19 Squadrons, on missions protecting industrial sites in the Midlands. He was one of the last survivors, died just age 99. Good condition Est.

He is best known as the aircraft captain who flew the B 29 Superfortress known as the Enola Gay (named after his mother) when it dropped a Little Boy, the first of two atomic bombs used in warfare, on the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
