ROKOKO KOMMODE "LACCA POVERA". Oberitalien. Datierung: Um 1760-70. Technik: Weichholz beige gefasst mit kolorierten Kupferstichen verziert. Marmorierte Platte. Maße: 86x128x62cm. Das im 17. Jh. ihren Ursprung habende Verfahren des sog. "lacca povera" (oder auch "arte povera") geht in erster Linie zurück auf die damals vorherrschende Affinität für asiatische Lackmöbel. Sie erreichte in der ersten Hälfte des 18. Jh. ihre Blütezeit. Aber auch die besonders in den 20er und 30er Jahren des Jahrhunderts ausgeprägte Vorliebe des Adels für die Technik des sog. "decoupage", also das Ausschneiden und Ausmalen von Drucken, um damit kleinere Objekte aber auch größere Möbel zu verzieren spielt eine wesentliche Rolle bei der Verbreitung dieser außergewöhnlichen Möbelstücke.Durch das Aufbringen meist handkolorierter Kupferstiche, welche wiederum mit einem speziellen, gelblichen Lack, dem sog. "sandracca" (oder Sandarak) überzogen wurden, versuchte man eine Art Imitation der beliebten chinesischen und japanischen Möbel. Spezielle Ausschneidebögen und Vorlagenstiche ließen in der Gestaltung keine Wünsche offen. Wie auch auf der hier aus dem 18.Jh. stammenden Kommode wurden meist figürliche oder galante Szenen und Landschaften auf den hellen Untergrund aufgetragen. Da sich diese Möbel besonders in Italien, Frankreich und Deutschland größter Beliebtheit erfreuten stammen auch die Vorlagen oftmals von italienischen Firmen wie Remondini in Bassano sowie von Augsburger Verlegern wie Martin Engelbrecht und Jeremias Wolff.Literatur:Kreisel, Heinrich und Himmelheber, Georg: Die Kunst des deutschen Möbels.
