Kommode Kommode Norditalien (Veneto), Mitte 18. Jh. Weichholz, weiß gefasst, mit polychromem Lacca povera Dekor sowie polychromer Fassung. Rot-weiße Marmorplatte. Auf sich verjüngenden Vierkantbeinen. Zweischübiger trapezoider Korpus mit leicht gebauchter Front und Schürze. Gerundet vorgezogene Vorderstollen. Lacca povera Dekor mit galanten Szenen und vegetabilen Ornamenten. Rest., Platte best., Altersspuren. 88 x 129 x 63,5 cm. Der sog. "lacca povera" Dekor geht zurück auf die ab den 1720er Jahren in Frankreich, aber auch Italien und Deutschland bei der Aristokratie beliebten Technik der "Decoupage", dem Ausschneiden und Kolorieren von Druckgrafiken. Neben Kleinobjekten wurden auch Möbel mit dieser Technik dekoriert, wobei man die applizierten Ausschnitte mit Lack überzog, um so die glänzenden Oberflächen asiatischer Lacke nachzuahmen. Aus Venedig, Zentrum der Lacca povera in der Mitte des 18. Jhs., haben sich höchst aufwändige Beispiele erhalten, vgl. etwa den Aufsatzschreibschrank des Metropolitan Museum New York (s. Kisluk-Grosheide, Danielle, "Cutting up Berchems, Watteaus, and Audrans": A Lacca Povera Secretary at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, in: Metropolitan Museum Journal 31 (1996), S. 81 - 97.
