BELLE COMMODE DEMI-LUNE en placage de bois de rose, de bois de violette, bois de rapport, de sycomore et de sycomore teinté. La façade ornée d`une frise de volutes feuillagées en ceinture, ouvrant par un ventail à décor de filet de réserve en bronze doré avec au centre une marqueterie représentant un panier de fleurs surmonté d`une guirlande. Montants plats à cannelures simulées avec chutes et sabots de bronze doré. Pieds cambrés. Dessus de marbre brèche d`Alep. Style Transition, estampillée "Maison Krieger ameublement" sur la serrure. Époque Napoléon III. Antoine Krieger (1804-1869) s`installe avec son frère Nicolas à Paris vers 1826. Il exerce son activité jusqu`en 1856, date à laquelle ses gendres reprennent l`entreprise. "Fabricant en tous genres, il exécutait tous les plans et dessins dans le genre ancien et moderne. "La Maison Krieger remporte des prix à l`Exposition des produits de l`Industrie en 1849 et aux Expositions Universelles de 1851 et 1855. Bibliographie : D. IMPOSANTE COMMODE à vantaux en acajou. Riche ornementation de bronze doré tels que rinceaux feuillagés, guirlandes de fleurs, têtes de lion. Elle est ornée de médaillons à décor de femme et enfant sur la face et sur les côtés. Elle ouvre à deux abattants découvrant six tiroirs et à trois tiroirs en ceinture. Large montants colonnes à cannelures rudentés se terminant par des pieds fuselés ornés de couronnes de godrons et de feuilles. Epais dessus de marbre blanc veiné à deux gorges. D`après Benneman, circa 1900. (Éclats au placage, éléments décollés, éclats au marbre). HAUT. 104,5 cm - LARG. 179,5 cm - PROF. 68 cm Cette commode s’inspire de différentes réalisations de Benneman exécutées entre 1786-1787 pour la chambre de Marie-Antoinette à Compiègne, pour le salon des Jeux de la Reine à Fontainebleau et la chambre du comte de Provence à Versailles. A noter que les modèles du XVIIIe siècle étaient ornés de médaillons en biscuit de Sèvres.
