A LATE GEORGE III MAHOGANY AND EBONISED BEDSIDE COMMODE CIRCA 1810 80.5cm high, 69cm wide, 53.5cm deep Please note, the vendor will donate the proceeds from the sale of this lot to a local charity (TBC)Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old splits, chips and losses. An aperture has been drilled thorough the back board, presumably for wires to be fed through. Some later plastic blocks applied to the interior of upper section (supports for additional shelf). The back of one door with foamy glue residue visible to lower edge - see image. Various old repairs to veneers and mouldings with some sections re-stuck - see images. Metalware appears original. One hinge with slim fillet of later timber used as a packer underneath it, filler has been applied to help disguise this. NEW HALL; two 18th century commode shaped teapots, the first pattern number N195, with hand painted floral decoration, the second lacking cover, pattern number N166 (2). Additional InformationAs stated, one example is missing the cover. Light scratches and wear. The same example with a small chip to the footrim, the second example has had an old break and rivet holes to the spout, numerous chips to the rim.
