An 18th Century Louis XV Style Kingwood Commode. The rouge royal marble top above a serpentine front housing two short and two long drawers fitted with unusual rococo style dog handles; quarter veneered rectangular centres with inverted corners bordered with kingwood and slim cross grained edges. The shaped apron centred by a pierced cast brass appliqué and having rounded side corners inlaid with boxwood stringing terminating with cast brass sabots. 33½ (85 cms) in height, 50 ins (127 cms) wide & 25 ins (64 cms) deep.
A Louis XV Bombé Shaped Kingwood Commode The rouge royal marble top having a moulded serpentine edge above two short and two long drawers inlaid with decorative cross-banding on diagonally grained veneers and fitted with fine Rococo scrolling ormolu escutcheons and foliate handles with further scrolling mounts adorning the swept sides and feet, 46 ins (117 cms) wide, 26½ ins (67 cms) deep and 32½ ins (82 cms) high.
A Late 18th Century Miniature Commode Chest. The rouge royal marble top with moulded edge measuring 28¼ ins x 13½ ins (72 cms x 34 cms) above three long drawers inlaid with decorative banding and having laurel swag cast gilt metal handles and escutcheons. The sides with reeds rising up the single flutes above turned feet, 18¾ ins (52 cms) high.
A Large Late 18th Century Continental Inlaid Walnut Commode. The rouge marble top having a serpentine front and moulded edge measuring 48 ins x 27 ins (122 cms x 69 cms). The three long drawers and commode sides cross-banded in tulipwood framing panels of inlaid stringing outlining arabesque & scrolling strap-work designs enriched with oyster-wood roundel appliques. The drawers fitted with Rococo foliate scroll handle and escutcheons and flanked by fluted quarter columns above a moulded base on turned & tapering fluted legs, 36½ ins (93 cms) in height.
A French gilt bronze mounted kingwood vitrine, with 'Vernis Martin' panels, the plush lined cabinet with low domed top and serpentine sides on conforming commode-base and richly decorated with ciselé foliate, gadrooned and other mounts, 193cm h; 77 x 41cm, c1900. ++Some minor lifting of the veneers on the top, one of the glass shelves chipped, some craquelure/blistering of the painted decoration affecting the principal door panel but a fine quality example in good overall original condition
A late Georgian mahogany gentleman’s fitted washstand of square section, having a fold-over top, rising mirror and fitted interior above a dummy drawer, cupboard door, two further drawers, the lower drawer with pull-out commode, all raised on square tapering supports with brass cup castors, width 51cm (closed)
