JhDer 1732 geborene Möbeltischler Nicolas Petit betrieb eines der produktivsten Ateliers in Paris. Nach dem Meistertitel, den er am 21. Januar 1761 erhielt, etablierte er sich in der Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, wo er bis zu seinem Tod 1791 tätig war - eine Zeitspanne, die über die Regentschaft von zwei Königen, Louis XV. und Louis XVI., mit ihren unterschiedlichen Stilen, hinausreichte bis nach der Revolution. The piece has likley been repolished, but the surface has started to mellow and take on a good colour. The leather slide has had a new insert. The tambour slide functions well and does not get stuck.
