Good Quality Italian Mid 20th Century Louis XV style Bronze Mounted Parquetry Inlay Marble Top Commode. Signed Made in Italy. Good Condition or Better. Measures 35-1/2 Inches Tall, 47 Inches Wide and 19 Inches Deep. We will not ship this item due to its size. We will happily recommend a list of outside vendors upon request. (estimate $500-$600)
A French serpentine rouge marble and ormolu mounted commode, 18th century and later, with two shaped short drawers over two long drawers, with bronze Rococo handles, raised on scrolling legs terminating in sabots, 82 cm high, 129 cm wide, 60 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: There is some fairly extensive damage to the veneer throughout with some repairs made but some parts missing. The apron is slightly loose under the bottom drawer and some of the brass is loose on the drawers and feet. The marble top is in good condition with no breaks or bracing rods in its back. The back right leg has become almost separated requiring re-nailing and repair to the veneer where the leg connects to the body of the commode.
An Italian walnut inlaid commode, 19th and later, the shaped rectangular top with inlaid lozenge pattern, above three long drawers, on stile tapering feet, 83 cm high, 89 cm wide, 51 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: The commode is sturdy and structurally solid, but it shows usage marks and scuffs with some dents also. The top has a slight bow and a split across the surface. A chip of veneer is missing at the back of the top and another chip exists on the right side next to the back leg. The drawers all open and their handles work. There are signs of damage on the metal surrounds to the key holes of the drawers.
An early 19th Century mahogany and inlaid step commode:, bordered with ebonised lines, the three treads with inset tooled leather panels, having a hinged top and sliding and hinged centre section, on short turned tapered legs, 51cm across, also a somewhat similar early 19th Century mahogany three tread step commode, 47cm across (2).
A Figured Walnut and Parquetry Decorated Two-Drawer Chest, 18th century in part, the quarter-veneered top above two bowfront drawers, raised on plain stiles, 48cm by 33cm by 38cm; A Regency Mahogany Commode, now converted, with hinged lid enclosing a velvet lined interior above two faux drawers, shaped apron and splayed bracket feet, 47cm by 45cm by 48cm; and A Cylindrical Bucket, of staved construction, with iron carrying handle, 30cm high (3) CONDITION REPORT: Chest - poor condition. Numerous worm holes. Sections of veneer missing or replaced. Commode - faults around legs, particularly front left which is split. Front right leg spliced. Bucket - poor. Numerous coats of varnish or stain. Base later?, which has been ebonised. 240914
