A Louis XVI ormolu mounted kingwood commode, with later variegated grey marble top over three short and two long drawers, on turned tapered legs with ormolu toupie feet, W.126cm D.58cm H.85cm**CONDITION REPORT**Overall in good condition, marble not the original (the front of the commode has a slight breakfront whereas the marble does not), in good condition to the top but with a few nicks and chips around the edges, main body of rich gingerish brown tone, some slight undulation on both sides but flat to the front, ormolu mounts look original as do the locks but no key present.PLEASE NOTE:- Prospective buyers are strongly advised to examine personally any goods in which they are interested BEFORE the auction takes place. Dieser in fünf Schübe gegliedert: drei große in den unteren Reihen sowie zwei kleinere in der oberen Reihe, dazwischen jeweils Maskaron-Schlüsselbeschläge und mit mobilen Zuggriffen dekoriert. Fadenintarsien an jedem Schub mit vegetabilen Appliken in den Ecken. Die Deckplatte in dunkelrot und weiß geädertem Marmor, den Zügen des Möbels folgend. Alters- und Gebrauchssp. Bedeutende Louis XIV-Kommode mit Boulle-MarketerieHöhe: 86 cm.Breite: 120 cm. Tiefe: 62,5 cm.Gestempelt „Sageot“.Die Kommode vierschübig, die Front in eleganter Weise, nur leicht korbbogig gebaucht, die gerundeten Ecken ziehen in die Seiten ein. Der Fußsockel, mit an den Ecken rundziehenden Stollenfüßen, zieht in der Mittelzarge in symmetrischer Schweifung bis zum Boden herab. Die Platte, der Grundform des Möbels folgend, ist umzogen von einer vergoldeten Rahmeneinfassung mit reliefierten Lanzettblättern. Entsprechend umziehende, vergoldete Profilleiste trennt den Fußsockel von der Schübefront, die an den gerundeten Ecken in ähnlicher, gerade herabziehender, vergoldeter Stabdekoration eingefasst ist. Schübefronten, Abdeckplatte und Seiten mit Boulle-Intarsien, unter Verwendung von Zinneinlagen und rotem Schildpatt dekoriert, jeweils eingefasst von ebonisierten Rahmungen, die ebenso gliedernd wie beruhigt ordnend wirken. Schlanke Metallbandeinlagen, unterbrochen von mittigen schmalen horizontalen gravierten Bändern. Die Boulle-Intarsien zeigen auf der Deckplatte eine zentrale größere pavillonähnliche Figuration im Grotesken-Stil mit, auf zentraler Gold-Messingfläche eingelegter Darstellung, einer im Sessel sitzenden Dame vor einem ovalen Bild, daneben ein Putto mit geöffnetem Buch. Seitlich, zwischen fantastischen schlanken Säulchen, Fantasiefiguren unter den Trophäen Amors, wie Pfeile, Köcher und Bogen. Oberhalb der Darstellung ein Lambrequin-Baldachin. Das Mittelfeld flankiert von zwei ähnlichen, mehrfach geschweiften und durch Band- und Laubwerk gebildeten Feldern, mit eingelegten Darstellungen exotischer Musikanten. Weitere Fantasiegestalten mit Federbuschhüten in den übrigen dekorativen Elementen, zum Teil in Verbindung mit Drachenfiguren bzw. exotischen Fantasievögeln. Somit steht die figürliche Dekoration in engstem Zusammenhang mit dem gleichzeitig herrschenden Chinoiserie-Stil. An den Schübefronten entsprechende Boulle-Intarsien, ebenfalls in Messing und Zinn, auf rotem Schildpattgrund mit exotischen Vögeln und federbehelmten Masken zwischen verschlungenem Blattwerk. An den Seiten eine entsprechende Boulle-Intarsiendekoration. Reiches, elegant komponiertes Beschlagwerk in Form symmetrischer Schlüsselbeschläge, flankiert von seitlichen beweglichen Zughenkeln in Form liegender Baluster mit Zwischennodus, die im Schwung seitlich an die Agraffen hochziehen. An den Seiten große, ebenfalls vergoldete Applikationen mit Frauenmasken. Innenbau der Schübe in massivem Nussholz. Ins Holz vertieft eingelassene, original Schlösser mit Messingabdeckung. Die Kommode insgesamt von höchster Eleganz und guter Erhaltung. Gebrauchsbedingt auf der Abdeckplatte zum Teil rest.Anmerkung:Nicolas Sageot (1666 - 1731) war Zeitgenosse von André-Charles Boulle (1642 - 1732) und arbeitet mit diesem häufig zusammen. Werke aus ihrer Werkstatt kamen in bedeutende Ausstattungen für Schlösser der französischen Aristokratie, auch an die Schwedische Krone oder an Kurfürst Maximilian II von Bayern. Jahrhundert.Die Kommode dreischübig, an der Front mittig konvex vorschwingend, die Seiten entsprechend den vorderen Schweifungen. Ecken schräg vortretend und in kantige, halbhohe Vierkantbeine einziehend, die durch eine Zarge mit mittig herabziehender Zunge verbunden sind. Der Korpus in Eiche, furniert in Palisander, Rosenholz, Amaranthholz sowie helleren und dunkleren Zierhölzern in den Blüten und Blättern der Intarsien, grün und rosa eingefärbt. Gliederung der Front dreiteilig: Die schlanke Mittelzone trägt jeweils große rocailleförmige Schlüsselbeschläge über quadratischem Intarsienfeld, seitlich davon jeweils längsziehende, durch Palisanderholz eingefasste, diagonal verlegte Felder, gesäumt von schlanken hellen Fadeneinlagen, und darin Rosen- und Anemonenblüten mit grün gefärbtem Blattwerk. Die Zughenkel feststehend, in Rocailleformen gearbeitet. Da die obere Schubzone dreigeteilt ist, befindet sich in den Henkeln zusätzlich je ein Schlüsselbeschlag. Zwischen den seitlichen Schüben ein hochrechteckiger kleiner Mittelschub. Trollope & Sons“.Paris, um 1866.Über konisch auslaufenden, Ormolu-beschlagenen Füßen, die zusammengeführt werden durch ein Knotentableau, welches von einer Vase überhöht wird, der einschübige, durch Druckmechanismus auszulösende Korpus, über kannelierten und Ormolu-verzierten Beinen ruhend. Darüber ein eintüriger Korpus mit Klapptüre, dahinter vierschübige Inneneinrichtung sowie geöffnete Kompartiments und grün gefärbte Lederschreibplatte. Durch Druckmechanismus zu öffnende Gesimsschublade mit überkragender gestufter, grün-weiß geäderter Marmordeckplatte mit umlaufender Ormolu-Balustergalerie. Den Korpus flankierend kannelierte und genodete sowie mit plastischen Tierfüßen verzierte Säulchen. Die Seiten mit aufwändiger Instrumentenmarketerie, schauseitig mit einer Szene aus der Commedia dell‘Arte nach Januarius Zick (1730-1797). Ein Schlüssel vorhanden.Anmerkung zur Marketerie:Dargestellt ist eine Szene aus der Commedia dell‘Arte, welche in gleicher Weise seit Jahrhunderten in Theater-Aufführungen zu sehen ist: Harlequin, Columbine und Anselmo mit seinem Stock und Dreispitz auf dem Kopf. Ursprünglich wurde diese Art der Marketerie vom Maler Januarius Zick (1730 München-1797), für David Roentgen (1743-1807), entworfen. Januarius Zick arbeitete häufig mit David Roentgen zusammen, um die Fronten von Kommoden zu schmücken, die in der Werkstatt von Roentgen hergestellt wurden. Die Schablonenzeichnungen für die Marketerien und Intarsien wurden von dem Künstler Elie Gervais (1721-1791) und dessen Werkstatt erstellt. Eine der bekanntesten Roentgen-Kommoden mit diesem Commedia dell‘Arte-Motiv befand sich ehemals im Schloss von Versailles. Im 19. Jahrhundert gelangte diese Kommode in die Sammlung von Baron Mayer de Rothschild, dem Kopf des großen Bankhauses. Er verwahrte das Stück im Schloss Mentmore. Nach der Versteigerung von Mentmore gelangte die Kommode in die Sammlung Thyssen und von der Jack und Belle Linsky Collection dann weiter in das Metropolitan Museum, New York.Weitere Kommoden aus der Roentgen-Werkstatt mit dem gleichen Motiv der Commedia dell‘Arte befinden sich im Bayerischen Nationalmuseum München, dem Victoria & Albert Museum, London und dem Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.Literatur: Vgl. The structure is flanked by fluted and nodal columns and nodal columns decorated with three-dimensional animal feet. Notes regarding the marquetry:The sides with elaborate instrument marquetry, the front decorated with a scene from the Commedia dell’Arte, as shown in theatre performances in the same way for centuries: Harlequin, Columbine and Anselmo with a cane and tricorne on his head. This type of marquetry was originally designed by the painter Januarius Zick (1730 Munich - 1797) for David Roentgen (1743 - 1807). Januarius Zick frequently worked with David Roentgen to decorate the fronts of commodes made in Roentgen’s workshop. The stencil drawings for the marquetry and inlays were created by the artist Elie Gervais (1721 - 1791) and his workshop.One of the most famous Roentgen commodes with this Commedia dell’Arte motif was formerly held at the Palace of Versailles. In the 19th century, this commode ended up in the collection of Baron Mayer de Rothschild, the head of the big banking group. He kept the piece in Mentmore Castle. After the Mentmore auction, the commode was acquired by the Thyssen Collection, then from the Jack and Belle Linsky Collection to the Metropolitan Museum, New York.Further commodes from the Roentgen workshop with the same Commedia dell’Arte motif are held at the Bayerische Nationalmuseum in Munich, the Victoria & Albert Museum, London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Dreischübige Louis XV-Kommode mit MarmorplatteHöhe: 85 cm.Breite: 131 cm.Tiefe: 70 cm.Frankreich, 18. Jahrhundert.Korpusaufbau in Weichholz, Inneneinbauten in Eiche. Die dreischübige Front mittig konvex vorschwingend, zu den Seiten hin zurückgeführt. Die Ecken in konvex-konkavem Schwung, kantig vortretend, ziehen in schräg gestellte Stollenbeine ein, die mit geschwungener Zarge zur Mitte ziehen und dort eine herabgeführte Zunge ausbilden. Schönes Intarsienfurnier in Nussholz, Amarantholz und anderen Zierhölzern, jeweils felderbildende dunklere Bandeinlagen, die sich in den Feldern x-förmig weiterentwickeln. Die obere Schubzone dreigeteilt: Zwei seitliche Schübe flankieren eine hochrechteckige kleinere Schubfront. Schwere, fein gearbeitete, vergoldete Beschläge. An den Ecken kräftige blattförmige Sabots, die sich nach oben fortsetzen und unter der Platte jeweils eine nahezu vollplastische Maske ausbilden. Große rocailleförmige Schlüsselbeschläge. Seitlich bewegliche Zughenkel an rosettenförmigen Applikationen mit auszackenden Blättern. An der Zargenzunge entsprechendes asymmetrisches Beschlagwerk mit seitlichen Flügelformen. Die Marmorplatte in grau und weiß gesprenkeltem, altrosafarbenem Marmor. Die original Schlösser in die Schübe eingelassen, mit Messingabdeckungen.
