An early 19th century Swiss cherry and satinbirch commode, the moulded edge top crossbanded and quarter veneered and inlaid with corner flower heads, above two long drawers fitted with gilt brass handles and escutcheons on faceted front tapering legs and brass sabots, 86.4cm high, 102.8cm wide, 57.1cm deep.
A Transitional kingwood commode, with ormolu mounts, the moulded incarnat turquin marble top above an arrangement of nine drawers fitted with ribbon tied swag handles and escutcheons, the top of the carcass inscribed in pencil 'MONDOM J M E', 88.5cm high, 125.5cm wide, 64.9cm deep.Provenance: Lord Charles Spencer-Churchill.
A 19th Century Dutch Mahogany and Floral Marquetry Bombé Commode, with four graduated drawers above a wavy shaped apron, 100cm by 52cm by 85cm Partly restored. Drawer fronts rather flat and poor colour. Previous handle marks. Typical splits to end panels. Small veneer losses. Faults to cockbeading. Top section and end panels a reasonable colour. 190215
An 18th Century North Italian Walnut and Marquetry Decorated Two-Drawer Commode, raised on square tapering legs, 112cm by 52cm by 86cm In need of restoration. Rather faded, colour loss, veneer losses, numerous splits, particularly to end panels. Right hand corner of the top drawer with small section missing. 230115
An 18th Century French walnut and kingwood cross-banded commode, the grey marble top over two drawers on cabriole supports to brass sabots, 97 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Marble broken in two, and with various large and small chips and losses, quite a lot of scratches,and some stains, including a large blue stain. Commode has quite a lot of warping and movement to carcass which has caused veneers to split, crack and warp and lift. Various separating at joins. Losses to veneers. Splits throughout, but particularly large splits to the left side. Overall in need of some sympathetic restoration.
An 18th Century Maltese walnut (and possibly olive wood) serpentine fronted commode, the quartered top set with two parquetry starburst medallions and cross banded over a single drawer and two cupboard doors flanked by two Maltese Cross style medallions, raised on cabriole supports, 128.5 cm wide x 94 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Depth approx. 62 cm, width approx. 128 cm, height approx. 94 cm. Overall with wear, scuffs and chips, quite a lot of warping and splitting to veneers and inlay, various patched repairs, feet/legs appear to be later, warping to carcass - please see photos for examples, appear to be quite a lot of pinned repairs throughout and a lot of variations to colour and finish.
