A Karelian birch commode, c.1830, Continental, with a drawer and cupboards, on shaped bracket feet, 120cm wide 44cm deep 94cm high Condition ReportOne key present. The overall colour is good and even. There are signs of old wood worm in many of the panels, which appears to have been present in the timber before construction. There is a small loss of timber to the back right lower plinth panel, there is also some timber shrinkage between the panels of the doors and sides and the centre moulding between the doors is a replacement. Joints sound and solid. Drawer and doors functioning well. Overall presents in good structural and cosmetic condition and is ready to place.

A painted Louis XV style provincial commode of bombe form, with two short drawers over two long, painted in an off-white cream colour, 118cm wide56cm deep92cm highCondition ReportIntentional distressing to the paint. The drawers run smoothly. No splits. With dovetail joints. From what we can see the piece is walnut with pine drawer linings, although we cannot see much of the grain. 20th century
A late Victorian Gothic revival ebony inlaid, bird's eye maple bedroom suite, manner of Charles Bevan, comprising 5ft bed frame, kneehole dressing table, chest of drawers, marble top washstand, bedside cabinet, commode and two caned chairs. Condition - fair to good, chest is sun faded, one mirror support now in two pieces. All pieces have minor surface scratches and minor stained areas from use.Faults to note:Dressing table - Left base of mirror support now in 2 pieces but does not affect its function. Mirror spotted.Chest - sun faded. No losses or repairs. Very minor amount of chips and splits consistent with age and usage. The drawers run smoothly. Original locks present.Chest top has a minimal amount of warping considering the age. More images online. Bedside - Historic worm to plinth (minor), now dormant, side sun faded.High back cane chair - cane damaged to top, old worm to lower rail.Washstand - Chipping to edges of marble and has a later formica top which can be easily removed.Bed footboard - faded.
