A French faience bough pot, circa 1770, in the shape of a commode, the top pierced for single flowers, the moulded Rococo scrollwork ornament picked out in bright colours, the frontmoulded drawers naturalistically coloured, 22cm wide/Provenance: from the Henry Sandon Study Collection CONDITION REPORT: Overall in good order. With small chip to one moulded handle, small chip to underside of one corner of top of commode, further smaller chips to glaze.

Some splits, losses and lifting to the veneer. Evidence of re-finishing and other minor cosmetic repair. Drawers run smoothly. Joints solid. General knocks and wear commensurate with age and use. Traces of historic woodworm beneath and behind, none of which appears active.
