A mahogany, ebonised and gilt metal mounted commode, in Continental style, late 20th century, 96cm high, 120cm wide, 49cm deep Condition Report: Overall in a condition that reflects this commode's lack of significant age and use, as catalogued it is in Continental later 18th century style but more recent (late 20th century) manufacture. Some chips and losses to the leading edge of the top, some marks, scuffs and scratches toward the middle of the top also. An 18th Century walnut miniature serpentine fronted commode/chest, the cross banded and inlaid top with moulded edge over two drawers with brass handles and locks raised on turned feet 28 cm wide x 13 cm deep x 15 cm high CONDITION REPORTS With marking/staining to the right hand top panel. Some veneers lifted or previously lifted and replaced, particularly to the cross banding, two small chips/loss to the rear corners, some cracking to the veneers along the grain to the drawer fronts - see images. Some old repaired damage to the rear right hand side bottom. Feet probably replacements as slightly different. See images for further detail
A small George III cream painted and decorated demi-lune commode In the manner of Angelica Kauffman, painted with neo-classical scenes of maidens and pastoral lovers, within riband tied floral swags, the moulded top above a frieze drawer with divided interior, the bowed front flanked by cupboard doors on square tapering legs, 86cm wide, 43cm deep, 86cm high. Provenance: Property of an Oxfordshire estate Bonhams, London, 6 March 2013, lot 98, sold from a private collection, previously purchased from Jeremy Ltd in 1972.

A late 18th century French banded kingwood serpentine marble top commode,with gilt metal mounts, stamped H. Edwardian quarter veneered satinwood commode chair with high cane back with hinged shelf over a leather hinged seat on reeded legs, H155 cmCondition Report: Caning to back later applied, good wear to the arms, the worn leather covered seat encloses a timber chamber surround that has cracked and warped, and a ceramic pot with re-glued lid. The pot itself is cracked. Some signs of age, but structurally sound.

WNAI - AN 18TH-CENTURY ITALIAN MOTHER-OF-PEARL AND PEWTER INLAID EBONISED COMMODEWith three long inverted breakfront drawers on carved bracket feet, 151cm wide; 99cm highCondition report: Shrinkage split running the width of the top. Many losses to the mother of pearl inlay, notably to the central motif of the top, with further leaves missing. Missing elements of inlay in other areas. Numerous pieces of pewter pinging up and missing, mostly to the sides. Worm damage quite extensive in areas, notably the back foot, bottom edge and worm tracks visible to the top. Later timbers used to support plinth and back legs, see images. Losses along the plinth edge and further wear, together with a missing block to the front left top corner of the projecting angle. Handles to the top drawer are later associated. Another below missing a loop pull. Wear , shrinkage and loses to the drawer linings which are lined and painted. Otherwise the general and inevitable scuffs, scrathes, dents, small chips and marks commensurate with wear, use and age. Dirt and dust. Please see additional images on www.bellmans.co.uk.

Shrinkage splits to the sides, see images. Other minor shrinkage cracks in areas, as to be expected with age. Drawer linings with shrinkage and gaps. A few old repairs in areas, including the back left leg and front corner moulding above the front left leg. Some old worm holes in areas. Otherwise various inevitable scuffs, scrathes, dents, small chips and marks commensurate with wear, use and age.Polished at some point, decorative and in relative solid order.
