An Italian painted bombe commode, in late 18th century Lombardy style, the serpentine moulded top above three drawers and a shaped moulded apron, the front painted with gilt scrolls and monkey figures harvesting, the top and side panels decorated with flowers, foliage, fruit and birds all on a white ground, on scroll legs, 82cm high, 130cm wide, 66.5cm deep. Recently repainted.
A marble topped commode, in late 18th century North Italian style, the moulded serpentine mottled marble top above a pair of long drawers with cast moulded handles and scroll cast escutcheons above a shaped apron and raised on moulded cabriole legs, the overall painted with double bands of acanthus leaf scrolls with flowers and foliage, 90cm high, 131cm wide, 64cm deep. Provenance: reputedly purchased at auction at Finarte. Reputedly all paintwork is original.
A cherrywood commode, in late 18th century French style, with faux marble top with rounded corners above a continuous dentil moulding, the front with two doors made to resemble six drawers, with a gilt metal paterae and enclosing sliding trays, the outset corners with columns with reeded bands on gilt metal acanthus and paw feet, 84.5cm high, 158cm wide, 70cm deep. Recently adapted with replaced legs and new faux marble top.

A early 19th Century mahogany Empire style commode, the black marble top above a fitted frieze drawer, three further drawers with turned knob handles between a half-column with turned metal fittings, raised on turned feet, the front veneered in flame mahogany, 36 1/2 x 57 1/4 x 23 1/2in. (92 x 130 x 60cms).

Gillows of Lancaster, a Regency mahogany night table, having a three-quarter gallery over a frieze drawer stamped ‘Gillows, Lancaster’, a door and a pull-out commode slide on reeded supports, the drawer inscribed in pencil ‘Edw. Pye, April 30, 1812’, 50cm wide 52cm deep 80cm high Edward Pye is recorded working at Tatton Park, near Manchester, in February 1812. Literature: Furniture History Journal 1970.
