Conn Rang.), extremely fine 3022 Private George Meldrum, served on the Western Front with The 2nd Battalion, Connaught Rangers, killed in action 6.11.1916 during the First Battle of Ypres most probably when the Klein Zillebeke position was repulsed, Meldrum is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
