He wrote and recorded the songs Me and Bobby McGee, For the Good Times, Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down, and Help Me Make It Through the Night. Kristofferson composed his own songs and collaborated with Nashville songwriters such as Shel Silverstein. In 1985, Kristofferson joined fellow country artists Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Johnny Cash in forming the country music supergroup The Highwaymen and formed a key creative force in the Outlaw country music movement that eschewed the Nashville music machine in favour of independent songwriting and producing. In 2004, Kristofferson was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He is also known for his starring roles in Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Heaven's Gate, and A Star Is Born, the latter of which earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. Good Condition. A highly prolific character actor, Dafoe has received multiple awards and nominations, including three Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor nominations. Dafoe has frequently collaborated with filmmakers Paul Schrader, Abel Ferrara, Lars von Trier, and Wes Anderson. Dafoe is a founding member of experimental theatre company The Wooster Group, where he acted in several productions. Dafoe made his film debut in Heaven's Gate in 1980 but was fired during production. Dafoe had his first leading role in the outlaw biker film The Loveless 1982 and then played the main antagonist in Streets of Fire 1984 and To Live and Die in L. A. 1985. Dafoe received his first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role as Sergeant Elias in Oliver Stone's war film Platoon 1986.
