1915 Star Trio & Memorial Plaque to Pte. Arthur Myhill, 2/Suffolks. Killed in Action 4th March 1916 at The Bluff, Ypres Salient. 76th Brigade suffered 924 casualties during this action. Commemorated on the Menin Gate and Ilketshall St Margaret Church, near Bungay, Suffolk. Born Bungay, enlisted Ipswich. Medals NEF on original silk ribbons. Copied research.
German Model 1879 Reich Commissions Revolver. Calibre 10.6mm (obsolete, no licence required). Barrel 7" with cannon barrel muzzle & part round, part octagonal section serial number 6242, on barrel and frame. The revolver is dated '1882' to the left of the frame. Oval makers mark 'S&S. VCS C.G.H. SUHL' (V.C Schilling & Cie, Spangen & Cacier & Cie). This was the standard German Cavalry revolver used from 1879 to 1945 including service in the Boxer Rebellion, WW1 and WW2. Six shot cylinder. Side loading gate, single action with lever safety. Two piece walnut grips. All screws marked '42' the last two figures of the serial no. Buttcap with heavy lanyard ring. Regimentally marked 'R.I.M. 33.7' (Reserve Infantry Munitions Column. 33rd Company. Weapon No 7.) This marking for WW1 the Cavalry 'K' Kurassier Regiment Marking has been hatched out. The revolver is entirely original and has an old fading blued finish. Action in very good working order (fully tested, please don't dry fire). Bore good. An excellent example of this huge & impressive military revolver.

A CHINESE VINTAGE POSTER, for 'Nataman Cigarettes' with a scene in colour depictingwarriors battling by a castle gate and two noble women in rickshaws, 30" (76cm) high x20" (51cm) wide; and two others depicting Chinese folklore scenes, advertising 'Legation andGold Ber Cigarettes'; and other, all approximately 30" (70cm) high x 20" (51cm) wide. RICHARD BARTER (BORN C.1824, DIED 1896), CATHERINE HAYES (BORN 1818, DIED 1861), A FINE CARVED WHITE MARBLE BUST, head and shoulders, wearing her hair in a bun, with bead necklace and cross pendant, and a floral spray in her left hand, her shoulders covered with a shawl, signed verso Rich. Barter SC 1863, on turned sockle, 27.5" (70cm) high x 19.5" (50cm). (1) Catherine Hayes was world famous Irish soprano born to humble Irish parents, at No. 4 Patrick's Street Limerick in 1838. Her local talents attracted the Church of Ireland Bishop of ENgland, Edmund Knox, and she started performing privately at the residences of the local protestant ascendancy. Through her connections, especially Bishop Knox's funds, were procured to enable Ms Hayes to study under Antonio Sapio from April 1839 to August 1842. She performed for the first time at the Rotunda Hospital May 3rd 1839, at Sapio's annual concert (now the Gate Theatre). She later sang at her native city Limerick, and frequently Dublin. She went to Paris in 1842, where she studied under Manuel Garcia. After a year he advised her to proceed to Italy. In Milan she became the pupil of Felice Ronconi. In June 1849 she sang before Queen Victoria at Buckingham Palace. The Queen requested an encore and she sang with a grin, the Irish rebellion song, 'Kathleen Mavourneen' After she appeared in concerts in Rome, London, Dublin, New York, Boston, Toronto, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Charleston, Savannah, New Orleans, and over forty other locations in the Americas. She met presidents , statesmen and business leaders along the way. he then gave concerts in the Sandwich Islands (Hawaiian Islands), and Australia. She returned to England in 1856 after an absence of five years. In 1857 she married William Avery Bushnell, he soon fell into bad health, and died at Biarritz in France, July 2nd 1858, aged 35 years. She died in the house of a friend in Kent, 11th August 1861. Provenance: The Late Playwright and Novelist Mr Peter Walker Esq and by repute originally from Shakenhurst Hall, Bayton, Worcestershire.
