Kenneth Armitage RA CBE, British 1916-2002- "Richmond Oaks"; etching, signed, numbered 1/30 and dated 1977 in pencil, 30x37.5cm, (unframed) (may be subject to Droit de Suite) Note: Between 1975 and 1986 Armitage moved from the figure to nature, and became fascinated with the oak trees in Richmond Park. As he recalled in an interview with John McEwen in 1991:- "One day in 1975, in the spring, I suddenly saw them... and everywhere I looked it was a revelation, the trees were alive... And from then on I was hooked absolutely, and I went usually about three times a week, sometimes early in the morning, as early as I could get there before the gates were open. There was a little wicket-gate I found, you could park outside and go through the wicket-gate, and no one inside. You would see foxes sometimes, deer of course, and I had the place to myself. And I took sketch-books and eventually etchings on the spot. And it made me very happy to be there"
A yellow metal memorial ring, the black enamel oval head featuring the initial 'B', hallmarked London 1966, ring size W½, weight approx. 4g, together with a rose metal gate bracelet, five links wide, the outside two being crossed, stamp very worn, with 9ct yellow gold heart clasp, complete with safety chain, stamped 9ct, weight approx. 17.2g.

Some undulations to paper. Some foxing and some fading. Damage to glass to one picture. The size of "Clearing a five bar gate" is approx 37 x 28cm.
A large collection of stoneware bottles, to include examples inscribed "H G Jalland Wine & Spirit Merchant Goodge Gate Nottingham", "Lemon & Parker Wine & Spirit Merchants Gloucester", "Barrett's Brewery and Bottling Co. Limited Vauxhall London SW", "J. Harrison Botanical Brewer Craven Park Harlesden", "Pils Homemade Ginger Beer", "The V.B. Ginger Beer", etc, together with a collection of glass lemonade bottles and a small conical glass inscribed "Niblett's Non-Alcoholic Cordials Stroud and Cheltenham", a stoneware "Williams's" ink pot, etc CONDITION REPORTS Height of tallest jar approx 33cm. All items with wear and scuffs. Some chips and losses. The Barretts bottle has large chips to footrim, wear and blemishes. The Youngman Preston Lowestoft bottle has large chunk missing from neck and wear and blemishes. The Old Fashioned Allen & lloyd bottles - one has rim frits and cracks, and the other (which looks possibly slightly more modern) has wear and blemishes.
