A pair of 19th century Chinese porcelain cylindrical snuff bottles painted in underglaze blue and red with confronting warriors at the brick city wall with figures and with ornamental band to the shoulders, with six character marks to base, height 8cm, one with green hardstone stopper, and a further larger example with similar scene of warriors at the city gate, height 9.5cm including green hardstone stopper (3).The pair was purchased as Sotheby's Chester in 1988. CONDITION REPORT: Some fritting to foot rim of one.
