A 19th century oak table bureau, with beaded fall front opening to a fitted interior with pigeon holes and central well with sliding cover, on an associated lowboy table, the plain plank top above a single frieze drawer, raised on canted square supports with narrow shaped front apron, bureau 68cm wide x 40cm deep x 34cm high, table 76cm wide x 36cm deep x 62cm high.Condition report: Bureau: multiple cosmetic marks, rings and stains to the exterior. Left side plank split. Losses/wear to right side fall support aperture. General wear, dints and nibbles consistent with age and use. Shrinkage splits to back boards. Interior has replaced skiver, multiple ink stains throughout, loss to front shaped edge of a pigeon hole, general wear.Table: Appears to have been adapted from a fold-over table as there is evidence of a gate to the back frieze. Top is either original or contemporaneous but appears to have been re-pegged. Shrinkage to top planks. Rear corners both chipped. Chip to front right edge near corner. Deep scratches to rear plank. Rear legs braced with iron brackets. General wear consistent with age and use throughout.

In 1963 Koether Moved to New York City and started going to the Art Students League. In June of 1966 he graduated with honors from N.Y.U. and was accepted to the N.Y.U. graduate school of Communications Arts in Cinematography under Haig Manoogian. In 1970, he moved to Paris to take a studio space at the American Center on Boulevard Raspail. In July of ’71 Koether went to Italy and did a lot of drawing and watercolors. In Florence he met Italian art restorers and learned a lot about restoration from them. That same year, he participated in a group show at the American Center and sold several pieces – one to director Henry Pillsbury. The work from Ibiza and Paris dealt with attempts to delineate abstraction as a form with his own experience of his own abstractness – landscapes and still-lives of his own psychic and emotional space. This work has a post-psychedelic aspect. In 1974 Koether moved back to New York and worked in N.Y.C. as an art restorer with Roger Ricco Associates. That year, he had a one man show at Ajanta Gallery on East 9th Street. In 1976, Koether moved to Australia and established an art conservation business and worked on the 5 major collections of Oceanic art in Australia. A very heavy and imposing black stone Mantel Clock with brass framed movement marked '92' by "Jules Rolez Limited, Paris". Striking on a gong and having a mercury-filled temperature compensating pendulum. The gilded Ormolu face with Arabic numerals having a trace-work finished recess with the jeweled anchor escapement visible and with a regulation spindle above the twelve o'clock position. Unusually the pendulum is accessed via a hinging stone door with gate-style hinges and latch and the pendulum is visible through a bevelled glass window to the front flanked by reeded pillars. The dark appearance of the black stone case is relieved by colourful marble details. A Georgian design winding key is present, 13 5/8'' wide x 16 7/8'' high x 6 3/8'' deep.

MPH Models, Tim Dyke - A boxed MPH Models #1266 1:43 scale resin and alloy Ferrari TRi 330LM Le Mans Winner 1962 O.Gendebien / P.Hill 2765.58 miles at 115.24 mph. The model was created by the renowned modeler Tim Dyke in April 2000, and is a Limited Edition model numbered 21 of only 25 produced, and comes with hand signed certificate / card. hTe model in the traditional Ferrari 'rosso corso' appears in Mint condition with some dust / mildew around tyres, and features the RN6. With 251 detailed special features including "Headlamps - kit units discarded, body countersunk to accept lenses, MV lenses fitted"; "External mirror - moulded on unit removed, reshaped dowelled, lens recess carved in"; "MPH Etching for gear gate" plus many more fantastic details - some only visible under close scrutiny. The base of the model features details of the model with the MPH branding, and is housed in a plain white, Mint cardboard box with MPH Branding.
