Walter acquired coins and artefacts that interested him, so his collection, although containing many lovely examples, also contains many affordable specimens. AN UNUSUAL CHINESE CELADON PORCELAIN TRIPOD CENSER, possibly 18th Century, applied with a very pale celadon glaze, the sides and feet with archaic underglaze moulded decoration, the sides with double buddhistic lion-head and scroll handles, the whole supported on three extended buddhistic lion-head feet, the base with a Chenghua mark and with a Paris Mallie & Co shop label, 11.4in high.

A GOOD CHINESE KANGXI PERIOD FAMILLE VERTE PORCELAIN DISH, circa 1700, the interior painted to its centre with two ladies conversing in a garden setting, within a border of buddhistic lion and of precious objects vignettes reserved on a ground of formal scroll-stemmed lotus, the flanged moulded rim with a lappet border, the base with a double-circle in underglaze-blue, 13in diameter.
