A 19th century Chinese carved hardwood low opium table, the cleated top over a convex frieze and pierced fruit and foliate scroll apron, raised on cabriole style legs with ball and claw feet, 31¼ x 17¾in. (79.5 x 45cm.), 11in. (28cm.) high.* Condition: VG colour and patina. A few small pale water and ring marks to one end and one edge of top. No damage, losses or repairs to pierced apron or legs.

(61cm.) high, 12½in. (31.75cm.) diameter.
A Chinese carved hardwood jardiniere stand with inset marble top, 19th century, the scalloped circular top with foliate carved border and beaded edge, over a pierced frieze carved with fruit and foliage, raised on four similarly carved shaped supports with beast mask mounts and stiff leaves, on everted scroll carved toes, 36½in. (92.5cm.) high, 15¾in. (40cm.) diameter.* Condition: No sign of any damage but the glue has dried out on the four sections of the frieze allowing movement and gaps.
A Chinese Canton carved ivory brooch, late 19th century, the oval plaque carved with figures on a wooden palace terrace, in a reversible mount with glazed photo frame to the opposing side, within a rope twist, scroll chased rolled gold frame, 2½ x 2¼in. (6.3 x 5.1cm.) overall.* Condition: Tiny chip to hand of one figure, otherwise ivory is good. Rolled gold mount in good condition.
A Chinese export porcelain sparrow beak cream jug, late 18th century, painted in blue and white pagodas around a lake shore, with bead moulded scroll handle with ruyi thumbpiece, 4½in. (11.4cm.) high, with handwritten label to base, 'From Dorothy Nov. 1920'; together with a similarly decorated Chinese blue and white export teapot with fluted body and Fitzhugh border, 7in. (17.75cm.) high, chip to lid; a globular Chinese teapot painted with blue and white flowers, lead repair to handle; and a blue and white bowl with lake landscape decoration. (4)* Condition: - Cream jug: Yellowed discolouration to glaze on spout tip with remains of gilt paint. No other faults.- Teapot: Large chip to edge of cover and finial has been off and glued back. Firing cracks to top of spout and handle. No other faults.- Small teapot: Handle has been repaired/replaced with lead. There is a large crack from the bottom of the handle around the body. Glaze frits to tip of spout.- Bowl: Hairline down whole side of bowl.

AFTER LENG MEI (19TH CENTURY) LADY GONG SUN'S SWORD DANCE A Chinese scroll painting, ink and colour on silk, signed Dong Ming Leng Mei zhi, and one illegible seal, 63cm x 30cm. Provenance: from an English private collection, acquired c.1999 with a label which reads Christie's 24 June 1999, lot 328. Lady Gong Sun's inventive sword dances in the Kaiyuan reign (713-741) of the Tang dynasty inspired the cursive calligraphy of Zhang Xu (c.675-741) and poetry of Du Fu (712-770). Wu Dao Zi (680-750), the great master of figure painting, was similarly inspired by the sword dance of General Pei. ANONYMOUS (MING) WATCHING THE WATERFALL AT THE LU MOUNTAIN A Chinese scroll painting, ink on silk, 113cm x 59cm. Provenance: from an English private collection, acquired c.1990. ATTRIBUTED TO YONG RONG (QING DYNASTY) LANDSCAPE OF PENG LAI ISLAND A Chinese scroll painting, ink and colour on paper, inscribed, dated the xin si year and signed Huang Liu Zi (the sixth son) with two artist's seals, 102cm x 44.5cm. Provenance: an English private collection, acquired in the 1960s. Yong Rong was the sixth son of the Qianlong Emperor, then he was adopted into the lineage of his great uncle Yun Xi as Xi's Grandson. XU BEI HONG (1895-1953) BAMBOO A Chinese scroll paining, ink on paper, inscribed, dated and signed by Xu Bei Hong, with two artist's seals, and one collector's seal which reads xin zhong cang zhi, 80cm x 32.5cm. Provenance: an English private collection. The inscription to the left says it was given to Mei Nu dao zhang, (Xie Mei Nu 1913-1991 was a famous seal carver and calligrapher) as a gift, and then given to Li Shou Zeng (1889-1962, a collector) for his generous donation to the China Academy of Art in 1932. 徐悲鴻(1895-1953) 墨竹圖 水墨紙本 立軸款識:新篁類長留,梅奴道長惠存。悲鴻。李壽增先生所藏伊汀洲書,寶天下巨蹟,今捐美術學院先生寶怡終之。卅二年夏日重慶南岸,涼風埡遣真。悲鴻。鈐印:徐、東海王孫、來源:英國私人收藏,藏家父親獲贈于1960-1080年代。據羅光磊(謝梅奴學生)2009年2月1日在長沙晚報上面刊登的一篇《謝梅奴與徐悲鴻的白梅圖》記載,梅奴先生回憶當時徐悲鴻為了保護伊秉綬(1754-1815)的四條隸書屏,請梅奴先生幫忙聯繫到了當時的此隸書藏家李壽增。李先生知曉徐悲鴻是為國家保護文物而不是私人想買深為感動,願將四條屏贈予中央美術學院。徐悲鴻獲悉后為表達謝意特地送了一幅當時在重慶的舊作《墨竹圖》並提款說明收藏伊秉綬隸書屏的經過以志紀念,後又贈送了文章提到的白梅圖,此件拍品便是當時徐悲鴻所贈的竹圖。謝梅奴(1913-1991)師從書法篆刻家唐醉石及藝術大師齊白石,自幼酷爱书法篆刻傾心研究數十年,蜚聲海外。三十年代就與徐悲鴻交往甚密并為其刻章。李壽增(1902-1968),李氏四兄弟開設四怡堂藥店,壽增曾任經理。其弟李景陶曾任上海儲備銀行長沙分行行長,因而李氏兄弟有名譽長沙金融界。李壽增解放前為孤兒院、公醫院,救濟原董事長等。長沙和平解放後,他積極參與重建工作并以開明紳商選為長沙市人民代表會議代表等。
