A Chinese tea canister and cover,probably Qianlong, decorated in the Meissen style with castle on shoreline with shipment being delivered, approx 12.5 cms Condition: cover restored, with two chips to inner rimsome wear in parts to overglaze enamel, gilt wear to wave scroll work applied border on foot pedestal, chip to foot rim.

Provenance: A single-owner collection of Chinese paintings inherited from Colonel B.K. Blount CB (Special Operations Executive in China in World War II). Blount inherited some of the older pictures in the group from Sir Arthur Kennedy GCMG CB, Governor of Hong Kong between 1872 and 1877.

Pauline Moore was a twenty year old model when she wore the bracelet aboard the Greek ship Lakonia as it set sail from Southampton on December 19th 1963 on an eleven day Christmas cruise. Four days into the voyage disaster struck as fire broke out with the Lakonia seven hours of Madeira. Some 128 of 646 passengers and 376 crew on board were to lose their lives. Pauline Moore was lowered in a lifeboat and eventually rescued by a British cargo ship The Montcalm seven hours later
A Chinese watercolour on silk scroll painting with applied silkwork decoration, 18th / 19th century, depicting a nobleman and a female companion playing a flute, both seated at a low table, a mountainous landscape visible beyond beneath a colourful arch, the female figure in applied silkwork, four character signature to top of scroll verso, white metal tie mounts to top, the watercolour 20 x 11½in. (50.75 x 29.25cm.), overall 58½in. (148.5cm.) long. *Condition: Large area of silk 'paper' missing from top centre of watercolour, plus two other small pieces missing below this large loss and to the top left. Small hole to silk to centre just to right of female figure's face. Crease and silk starting to split to top left. Two other lighter creases to lower corners. Silk is time stained overall and there are some dirty smudges to lower margin - colours still remain good. Some small losses to black backing silk at margins and some wear to silk tied hanging ribbon at top.
A Chinese hongmu altar table, mid-20th century, the rectangular top with downturned, scroll ends, over a carved and pierced frieze with ruyi fungi, key work and beast motifs, raised on rectangular supports with end stretchers, 47 x 16¼in. (119.5 x 41cm.), 33in. (83.8cm.) high.* Condition: Good even colour throughout. One frieze has been off in the past and has very well executed glued repairs to the break across the width of the frieze. One corner of the top has restoration - the whole semi-circular piece has been replaced with wood stained to match and the beading to the inside has also been replaced. There is some glue and varnish residue around this repair.
Two Chinese bronze censers, the first probably 19th century, archaic form with twin raised ruyi scroll handles, floral and scroll pierced cover with kylin finial, rectangular body with engraved ruyi border, cast archaic script Xuande mark to base, raised on four cabriole style legs with beast mask decoration, on a separate stepped plinth, 9in. (23cm.) high; together with a censer of circular form with raised hoop handles and tripod feet, cast Xuande mark, probably 19th century, 3 1/8in. (8cm.) high. (2) *Condition: - Archaic style censer: Chip missing from corner of cover. Piece missing from tip of one handle. Has been polished - remains of good patina remaining to underside and interior.- Circular censer: Has been polished - some red rust spots showing to exterior.
An early 19th century pearlware blue and white puzzle jug, baluster form, decorated with Chinese style peonies and other flowers, below a reticulated rim with three bulbous spouts, the moulded C-scroll handle with floral meander decoration, 7¼in. (18.4cm.) high. *Condition: Two small base chips and one tiny chip nearby. Glaze crazing and two small star hairlines to base. Tiny frit to tip of one side spout.
