Attributed to Edmund Thomas Parris (1793 - 1873) Portrait of Maria Julia Trelawny (b 1814), daughter of Edward Trelawny (1792 - 1881) half length, in a white dress and blue sash, oil on canvas, 76 x 63cm. Footnote: Edmund Thomas Parris was a fashionable portrait painter in the early 19th century, his sitters included Queen Adelaide, Queen Victoria, of whom he drew a sketch in 1837 - the first year of her reign. This portrait of Maria Julia Trelawny was probably completed in 1835. Maria was born in 1814, and was the eldest daughter of Edward John Trelawny (1792 - 1881).
Attributed to Mark Gertler (British, 1892-1939), Christine Mavrogordato Reclining on a Daybed, pencil and crayon, 26 x 43cm (10 x 17in). Provenance: The Mavrogordato family and by descent. Mark Gertler was a friend of John Mavrogordato, the Greek scholar, and his wife, Christine, and spent holidays in Charmouth, Dorset, with the family. This drawing is thought to be a sketch for a larger oil of Christine Mavrogordato lying on the same daybed, now said to be in the United States

Ellis Silas (British, 1883-1972), Portrait of the artist`s wife, half length, seated in riding clothes, signed on verso, oil on canvas, 74. 5 x 62cm.; 29. 5 x 24. 5in. * Exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, Royal Institute of Oil Painters. He was a war artist for the Australian Government 1914 - 1918 and spent three years in Papua painting and collecting curios which he described in his book `A Primitive Arcadia`.
