He studied at the Cardiff College of Art and the Slade. He was awarded the Gulbenkian Foundation Award and the Abbey Major Scholarship to Rome. Exhibited Lefevre Gallery, London; works held by the Government Art Collection, Castle Museum Nottingham and the Contemporary Art Society of Wales.

Sir William Orpen RHA RA RWS (1878-1931) "The Brazen Serpent," a pencil sketch study, 22cms x 18cms (8 3/4" x 7") mounted and framed. (1) * This drawing comes from a sketch book one of five owned by Michael Salaman a fellow Slade School student, they included the Hamlet drawings and many others. The above sketch was exhibited in 1980 in London at the "William Orpen - Early Work,1878 - 1931" event.
