James H Hogan was a designer for, and ultimately chairman of James Powell & Sons, otherwise known as Whitefriars Glass. Whilst his work in glass- and stained glass in both the UK and America is well known- his original artwork is rare. Clive Barker (1952) English playwright, novelist, film director, and visual artist, an original sketch and signature on card. 22 x 30 cm. Provenance: Signed at Forbidden Planet in 1989.Provenance: The vendor was a private autograph collector for 25 years. He did this as a hobby when he was a runner working in London delivering items on his bike. He also attended premieres and shows. He has photographs of most of the stars when they signed for him that can be provided to the buyer if required.
Harrison Fisher (1875 or 1877 1934) American illustrator whose work regularly featured on the covers of Cosmopolitan magazines. An original sketch of the American - British Actress Bessie Love (1898-1986), signed 'Bessie Love Harrison Fisher', framed and glazed, overall 48 x 64 cm. Provenance: Consigned by the daughter of Bessie Love. Also included is a copy of a photo showing Bessie Love with the portrait and a publication from the Harrison Fisher Society discussing the portrait.
John Cleese signed 8x5 colour photo. John Marwood Cleese born 27 October 1939 is an English actor, comedian, screenwriter, and producer. Emerging from the Cambridge Footlights in the 1960s, he first achieved success at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and as a scriptwriter and performer on The Frost Report. In the late 1960s, he co-founded Monty Python, the comedy troupe responsible for the sketch show Monty Python's Flying Circus. Along with his Python co-stars Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Graham Chapman, Cleese starred in Monty Python films, which include Monty Python and the Holy Grail 1975, Life of Brian 1979 and The Meaning of Life 1983.
