Thompson was also an author, best known for his work 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' (1971), which Ralph Steadman collaborated with him on by producing illustrations for the novel. Thompson tragically committed suicide in 2005. In place of a traditional funeral, Thompson had requested that his ashes be fired from a cannon and this was arranged for him by his friend, Johnny Depp. *Artist's Resale Right may apply to this lot.
