Shortly after they married and moved to Ibadan, Nigeria, where he was to take up a post as a phonetician. In 1950 Wenger and her husband moved from Ibadan to nearby Ede. During this period she and Beier mentored a group of local artists that were to become the New Sacred Art Movement. Wenger and Beier eventually divorced and in 1959 she married a local drummer Ayansola Oniru. She went on to adopt more than a dozen Yoruba children. The festival to worship the goddess Osun that takes place every August continues to attract thousands of visitors today. He was a major figure of concrete and sound poetry in Britain and France and is widely considered to be a pioneer in its recognition and distribution. His work was born in the wake of Letterisme, the French avant-garde movement with its roots in both Dada and Surrealism. Chopin sought to promote the medium of poetry through books and magazines. The revealing of his true identity as Dean Stockton signalled a shift from his work as street artist to gallery artist. The book 'The Art of D'Face - One Man and His Dog' was published in 2013 by Laurence King Publishing. CONDITION REPORT: In a wooden stained black, perpex box style frame. Unexamined out of frame. Paper stuck down on white mount behind, on floating mount. Paper slightly ruckled on the sides. The print lacks definition in some areas, suggesting the process was not as successful as it should have been when it was pulled through the screen. There is some smudging, dripping and dragging of paint during the making process, not part of the design left on the paper. It is signed and has a cartoon face drawn beside this in pencil. Otherwise image and frame is in very good condition.
