Ivor Abrahams RA (1935-2015)Surreal forms in a landscapeScreenprint with flocking and cut out card, together with a collection of fifteen further surreal screenprints by the same hand and a copy of "The Life and Work of Ivor Abrahams" by Andrew Lambirth, 12cm by 17cm and various other sizes (17) (unframed)Ivor Abrahams (1935-2015) was a British sculptor, ceramicist and printmaker. He studied sculpture at Saint Martin’s School of Art (1952-54) before going on to attend Camberwell School of Art (1954-57). He found inspiration in a diverse range of subjects, including the British garden, cityscapes, oceans, mythologies, animals and the human figure. By the late 1960s, Abrahams began experimenting with new materials, including bronze, nylon flocking, pre-vulcanized latex, styrene, and plastics. His works have been exhibited widely, with a sculpture retrospective at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in 1984 and a prints retrospective at the Royal Academy of Arts in 1999. His works are held in several public collections including the British Council, the Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris, and the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

Small sporadic scattered foxing spots throughout the background. Possible small nicks? to the bottom edge right and left of centre below the numbering. Two brown marks approx 1cm to the left of the signature. Slight crease approximately 4cm into the lower left of the circle. Not examined out of the frame. See images.
§ Tom Wesselmann (1931-2004) - Big Blond With Choker (1992), screenprint in colours, with oval blindstamps of the printer 'Screened Images', Port Washington, New York, and the publisher 'International Images', Putney, Vermont, lower right, this example unsigned and un-numbered outside of the edition of ninety numbered copies, with a further edition of 12 HC (Hors Commerce), 137.5 x 187.5cmFramed and glazed.Colours appear excellent and original.No apparent faults, in overall ‘as new’ condition.Consigned from a client who has recently relocated from London. On our correspondence with London-based specialists, they confirmed that this is one of an unidentified edition outside of the numbered versions. We therefore have no doubts as to originality and authenticity.
Edward Hardy 'Ted' Harrison (Canadian 1926-2015): 'Maori Figure from New Zealand', screenprint signed titled inscribed 'To Andrew from Uncle Ted' and dated July 1967, 21cm x 57cm (unframed) Provenance: gifted to the vendor as a child in the 1960s by the artist. Harrison was a close friend of the vendor's father when the pair lived in County Durham, known by the family as 'Uncle Ted'. Born in a small colliery community in Wingate, County Durham, in 1923, Harrison studied at the Hartlepool School of Art and after the war was awarded a National Diploma at Durham University. He spent time abroad studying various artistic cultures; the present pictures are from his time spent in New Zealand, prior to him leaving for Canada and the Yukon where he enjoyed great success and was most successful. The vendor recalls the day in his parents' Hartlepool home when 'Uncle Ted' came to bid his farewells; he drew the vendor a self-portrait in his autograph book of him standing under a toadstool, joking that he was 'a small man' - which he was!
