A circular mahogany perpetual wall calendar, mid 20th century, the front with three glazed apertures showing the day, date, and month on canvas rolls, each adjusted with turned wooden dowels, 45cm diameter CONDITION REPORT:The piece is functional, with the day and month rollers turning relatively easily. The date roller turns, but tightens up somewhat when approaching "1" or "31", making turning somewhat harder. All three rollers show some creasing. The case shows the odd scuff to the varnished finish, but appears to be structurally sound.

5¢ Continental Orchester German barrel organ housed in an upright wood cabinet ca. 1880's with a painted scene showing a house among lush greenery. Interior shows a cymbal, triangle, drum, and a roller organ piano. Also contained inside is a light to better display the glass. The painted scene does show some repainting and minor loss. Includes keys and an extra barrel, in excellent condition needing the weight to be reattached for correct operation. Height: 226 cm. Width: 98 cm. Depth: 63,5 cm. Condition: Very Good. Contemp. pigskin on 4 raised bands over wooden boards with string lines and roller stamps, partly chamfered edges and 2 clasps (rubbed, spine browned, corners bumped, upper capital with small missing part, leather of clasps renewed, small traces of worming). - First German edition of "De casibus virorum illustrium". - The beautiful woodcuts, in various formats and in different quality, are mostly taken from earlier prints by Steiner, among others from the German Cicero of 1534, Petrarch and Theuerdank. - Uniformly browned, sporadically a little fingerstained, 2 leaves with small shaved areas. - Bound with: As listed above. With 81 (incl. title) wood engravings in text by L. Beck, J. Breu u. H. Schäufelein. Ibid., 1541. - First German edition by Steiner of "De claris mulieribus" and with these illustrations. - The translator Steinhöwel dedicates the book "to all pious weybers for an eer, and to the wicked for improvement and warning". His humanist attitude is revealed above all in his attitude to women. The choice of Boccaccio's work alone is remarkable" (Stammler). - The woodcuts were originally intended for an edition of the Decameron prepared by Steiner, some are repetitions from other publishers' works. According to Hollstein, 77 woodcuts are by Jörg Breu, 3 by Leonhard Beck and 1 by Hans Schäufelein. - Heraldic bookplate "I. E. Ruedorffer.S.TL.", uniformly browned, sporadically a little bit waterstained, title with marginal tear (probably due to loss of a page pointer), 2 leaves with small shaving spot, leaf 46 with 2 marginal tears. - Very rare collective volume with the two excellently and richly illustrated works of Boccaccio on the important men and women of history, both in the first German edition.

Zt. mit Streicheisenlinien, Rollen- und Plattenstempel auf Holzdeckel, Gelenke und Teile des Rückens mit neuerem weißen Leder ergänzt (restauriert). VD 16 S 7174. - Sehr seltene Postinkunabel, kein Exemplar der beiden Schriften für uns zur Zeit im internationalen Handel nachweisbar. Spagnoli (auch Battista Mantovano oder Baptista Mantuanus) (1447-1516) und Francesco Filelfo (latinisiert Franciscus Philelphus, 1398-1481 ) waren italienische Gelehrte und Humanisten der Renaissance. Die Blätter b3 bis c2 im ersten Werk sind nach dem Blatt c6 gebunden sind und das Blatt 53 des zweiten Werkes trägt die Paginierung "51". - Vor- und Nachsätze erneuert, bis Bl. 14 des ersten Bandes Papierschäden im Außenrand, einige Bll. je mit alten Marginalien d. Zt., teils etwas gebräunt und wenig fleckig. Sonst weitgehend sehr sauber und gut. - Sehr selten. Incunabula. - 2 works in one volume. Pigskin of the time with brush-iron lines, roller and plate stamps on wooden boards, joints and parts of spine supplemented with newer white leather (restored). Very rare postal incunabulum, right now no copy of either type traceable to us in international trade. Spagnoli (also Battista Mantovano or Baptista Mantuanus) (1447-1516) and Francesco Filelfo (Latinized Franciscus Philelphus, 1398-1481 ) were Italian scholars and humanists of the Renaissance. Leaves b3 to c2 in the first work are bound after leaf c6 and leaf 53 of the second work bears the pagination "51". - Endpapers renewed, up to leaf 14 of the first volume paper damage in the outer margins, a few folios each with old marginalia of the time, partly a little browned and a little stained. Otherwise largely very clean and good. - Very rare.

Quangvuti notata est" (mit zahlreichen Textholzschnitten und Kupfertafeln). Die Continuatio II u.a. mit zwei Leibnitiana: "Olai Römeri ad G. G. Leibnitium epistola de instrumento astronomicis observationibus inserviente à se invento" und "Petri Varignonis schediasma de dimensione superficiei coni ... (Accedit) additio Leibnitii ostendens explantionem superficiei conoidalis cujuscunque". - Es fehlen Front. u. 1 Zwischentitel am Anfang. Etw. gebräunt, stellenweise etw. fleckig.
